Wordings is a very powerful tool

Sometimes back, i came across an email which is talking about how something that a person says can leave a impression or a scar in another. And i think the way the email was written, really described the essense of the power of wordings. It said something like, whenever you shout at someone or said something which you shouldn't, go hammer a nail in the fence. Subsequently when you cool down, you should remove the nails. So after a while the fence is full of holes. Thus the moral of the story is? No matter whether you mean what you say or not, it will always leave a scar..even when the nail is being removed later..

So think twice before you say anything. You might not mean what you said, but the words may come speeding out of your mouth and hitting hard, across the face of the other party...So, do you think i care?? Maybe you really dont...

Chinese Valentine's Day

Didnt realised that today is the 7th day of chinese lunar 7th month. Its the so call chinese valentine's day whereby Niu Lang and Zhi Nui will have their annual meet up. There are altogether 3 valentine's day this year, being: February 14th, and the 2 chinese valentine's day that falls on the 7th of the lunar seven month.

However, sad to say..being in the first r/s of my life, i didnt get to enjoy or celebrate any of the valentine's days....sad case...but nonetheless, me hereby giving all the couples in the world, my utmost blessing!!!

Big Lunch

We to the so call famous "Shao La" shop that is opposite the temple for lunch today. There are about 20 of us!! Too big a group, so we splitted up and sat separately. 5 of us took a table and proceed to order...As its our first time there, thus not too sure how to order..so we went to ask the guys. They said, just tell them how many of us and tell the owner we wan mixed stuffs....wrong move!! In the end, this is what they gave us and it cost us $40+!!!
Its one plate of Char Siew, one plate of duck + one plate of roast pork!!

In the end we cant finish, so we "assemble" a plate of everything and pass it to the guys, lol...

A child in us

No matter how old we are, how mature we think we are, there is always a soft side in us and the child that was tugged down deep inside us. After a tiring day at work, met up with Law and accompany him to get a birthday present for his childhood fren's son. We went to Toy"R"Us at Forum. Haha, we had so much fun looking through the toys, choosing, "playing" and "posing" with the toys...

In the end, we decided to get a set of racing cars plus tracks sort of toy. There are loop jumps, cross jump and crash jump (for the tracks) and it only cost $25! Cheap huh!! After you are out working..all the toys suddenly seems very cheap. Remember when we were young, we used to beg our parents to buy toys for us..haha but now when we have the ability to buy, the toys doesnt seems that interesting anymore..

Its quite a big present

When Law was qeueing up for the gift wrapping serivce, i suddenly saw this long row of machines at the front. Its those that you put a dollar coin in, turn and out comes a "egg" shaped of present. Hehe..me went to try and out came my favourite!!

At last, a long awaited outing

Finally managed to pull through the outing we (my colleagues) have been planning since the World Cup days. Thats the problem when you are organising for a big group. Have to accommodate most of the ppl to settle on an ideal date. At first we wanna go for kayaking at Kallang and i was so looking fwd to it. But they changed the place to sentosa last min. Been a long long time since i last kayak and i dun really have the kakis to go kayaking too...tot that it would be a good experience to go with my colleagues...but alas..hai...

Nevertheless, yesterday's trip to sentosa was better than expected. In fact i wld say that its a good trip! We met at abt 11am and went to cold storage to buy some drinks and tibits before driving in straight to Palawan Beach. The weather was good! Definitely going to get a good tan. With a group of 12, we could play team games. We played Captains Ball (using our own rules..lol), Beach Volleyball and Captains Ball using frisbee. It was a great workout, with all of us perspiring like hell in just mins. Think the last time i ran like this was when i was in poly..been too long alr..from now onwards, must do this kinda exercise more often..but there are negative points in it..i am aching all over now and my wrist is blue and black with small red dots (from the wacking of the beach volleyball) lol..After that we went cycling ard sentosa. At first tot it would be expensive, but ended up its quite ok. $5 per hr and i even had discount for my Islander Card. We got lost when cycling ard sentosa so we came back 10 mins later than our destinated returned time, so we continue to cycle to make up for another 1 hr. Cass felt when she was cycling dwn the slope behind the beach front delifrance and got hurt pretty badly...poor girl..

Our group

We were so engross with our activities, that we forgot to have lunch...lol.Frederick joined us after that ard 4+, cos he was busy viewing flats with his gf. As he claimed that he didnt "play" much or sweat thus we played a last round of "Frisbee" Captain's Ball before going to bathe. Its much better that the morning's game as its much cooler and everyone is already dirty and doesn't care about rolling in the sand. Haha, ya we were practically rolling in the sand, jumping, falling and lying on the sand just to grab that frisbee and trying to score!!!! Haha in the end my team won! Yeah! So it would be free treat for supper later!
2nd round of frisbee
Cheezeeee..

As we booked a table at Settler's Cafe at Katong at 9.30pm, we headed down to Marine Parade for dinner. The game was good. Liked i mentioned in my previous entry, its a place where u can sit down and play games with drinks and tibits. We only managed to play 2 games in that 3 hrs. One is call Trans America and the other is Management Materials. Both are great games and super addictive! Would definitly go back to play, but most prob not at the Katong branch..too far..maybe the HV branch would be good :P

Thinking....what's the best strategy

Went to eat beancurb at Geylang after that (which was alr about 1am). It was delicious but after a day of hard exercise and tedious use of brain cells, most of us were half asleep alr...haha. In the end, Calvin sent me and Yenling home and we were sleeping almost the whole journey home!

Yummy!!

Would be looking fwd to the next outing which is most prob 2 weeks later, BBQ at Aug's house. They did hint to hold it at my place, but since the last time was alr at my place, i sort of tell them straight to hold it at someone's else place this time. :P

Good lunch

Just met up with my secondary school teacher, Mr Ravi for lunch. He is currently teaching at a private school that is opposite Hong Leong. Been a long time since we last met up. It was a good lunch, updating ourselves with whats happening ard us. He mentioned that he would be going to Cambodia for a week in Oct to do some community work. I believed that it would be a very interesting experience. If not going for my cruise trip, maybe i would join him. :P

Mum just told me that May May would be getting married. At first tot would crash with our cruise date, but luckily after smsing her, she told me that its on the 19th of Oct, so we are save to go!! Now only waiting for my BIL's job interview before booking for the trip and hopefully it wont be fully booked by then.

Back to Ravi, after lunch, he brought me to his school and gave me a short tour of his working place and classrooms. Most of his students are foregin kids, who came to Singapore to study. But before they are enrolled into local schools, they need to be prepared for the classes first, to upgrade their standard of english. Ok, i know, i promise to organise a mini class gathering for you. Was thinking to hold it at Settler's Cafe. Okok..will let you guys know after i find out some facts about the place and settled on the date.

Unexpected Changes

Well, life is full of changes. Tot that today would be a boring day, whereby i would laze ard at home doing nothing..until Law called me ard 3+ saying that he could meet me for dinner as he doesn't need to help out in the evening function. So i had a rough plan in mind, that tonight would be a night at the beaches! Planning to go to Coastes @ Siloso Beach for dinner (i just love their burgers), followed by a drink at KM8 which at Tanjong Beach. But then liked i said..life is full of changes..went i reached Harbour Front (HF), Law called me saying that he need to send his staff to SGH, as his staff accidentially cut his hand when cutting the bread! In the end, we spent about an hr and a half at A & E and ended up eating at the foodcourt there. But that poor staff received 7~8 stitches..OUCH!!!

However the night was not fully spoiled. After we left the hospital, we decided to head down to Geylang for a durian feast!

Hahah..thats how Law choose durians!!
Durian no.1
Cross section lol...
Haa..an ugly me eating durian

Lazy Weekend

After a much fun filled and busy week, my weekend has been spent rather slowly and quietly (need to catch up on the sleep that i have been missing during the weekdays). Haha, thats quite the opposite from other ppl yeah? Normal ppl would be working on weekdays and enjoying themselves on weekend. But as for me, ya, i have been working hard during the weekdays, but that also includes sports activities with colleagues and meeting up with bf. However due to Ah dear's natural of work, he needs to work on weekends (especially this weekend when sentosa had functions on both sat and sun), thus i am ususally at home on this part of the week.

Sometimes i really felt guilty abt complaining to him that i am bored. There he is working so hard and here i am lazing ard, taking naps, reading storybooks, chatting on msn and complaining that i am bored at home. But i just cant help it to miss him on weekends. He has to accompany me on his off days (which is ususal on a weekday), that means he dun really have any "available" day to get a well deserved rest. I promised Dear, i would try be more independent (and try not to miss u...lol)!

Was chatting on msn with Yutang just now and they just came back from the Kelong trip which i am also invited to go. But as Law wont be able to go, thus i didnt join them. Hee..luckily i didnt go, he mentioned that its not fun and is warm and sticky..seawater i guess. Better to stay at home and sleep than to spend money to suffer there. Think i am too pampered..cant stand sub-standard sleeping area, thus when going on a holiday, hotel is a very impt factor and i think backpacking (hint hint??) is almost out of the qn.

Hai...just finished the powerpoint slides for my presentation course tomorrow (its a mandatory pre-course material to be done). Been at least 6 yrs since i last presented anything in front of a group of ppl. Hoped that they wont pick me to do the presentation tomorrow!!! So what shall i do next?? :P think a nap would be nice.

KPMG Community Day - Mandai Zoo

Yesterday was the annual Community Day of KPMG, whereby we would bring all the charity organisations that was under our care, to the zoo for a day full of fun and laughters! In the past few months, KPMG have been collecting donations within the company, coming out with the promotions and to raise funds. These funds were being presented to the charity organisations yesterday.

Charity Organsiation under our unit is Grace Orchard. Its a school for children who need special care. We reached the Zoo at 8am in the morning and the kids arrived half an hr later. As there were only 10 kids, we were being paired up with a ratio of 2-3 auditors to 1 kid. The kid that was assigned to me is Naxxxx. She is a quiet kid with a bit of autism. The trip to the zoo was a short one as the kids needs to get back to school at ard 11am. We only went to see a few animals and thereafter settled down at the Amphitheatre to watch the animal show.
Its feeding time at the zebra enclosure
A curious Ostrich

After sending off the kids, we went back into the zoo to collect our lunch. It was a very dry box of fried rice..lol..most of my colleagues didnt even touch their lunch.. at least i ate half of it..cannot waste food mah :P The event actually ended ard 5pm, but as we dun have a second batch of kids, we were "free to go". We discreetly (actually very hard, as all of us were wearing the same blue and white KPMG T-shirt) make our way to the entrance. Hee, cant resist the Ben n Jerry there, thus ordered my favourite flavour.
New York Super Fudge Chunk, YUMMY!!

Meet up with Law as its his off day and accomany him to meet up with his Financial Adviser for his half yearly updates. After that met up with his frens and went for a drink. Hee..must enjoy my time when i still can. I can foresee my comming peak (ard Oct, as a 1st yr senior) to be super duper busy...hai...

Something that Law said (which i am very touched) and would remember forever - 2 drops not worth it. (Bu Zhi De, Bu Zhi De...)

Final Fireworks

Law is off today, thus we decided to go for the fireworks at Esplande tonight. But before that, we went to Queensway Shopping Center to do some shopping. Was intending to try out the Pink Addias Cap that i saw the other day at Harbour Front. But sad to say...that cap dun fit me..sob sob.. (law said my head is too big for that cap!!!) sad case.. thus went off empty handed.

Collected my herbalife package last night, so today would be my last day to pig it out (decided to start the package tomorrow :P). We went for Fish and Chips at Marina Square. The food is nice, i liked their chilli. Find that its better than Fish & Co. Its being served in traditional style (with those tracing papers). The price is also quite reasonable, with the basic fish & chip costing abt $6+..

My Fish & Chips
Calarmani n Chips

Went early to "chop" a good view on the Shears Bridge. We found a spot somewhere in the middle of the bridge and Law started to set up his tripod. Suddenly we heard someone saying "Excuse Me. Thats my camera beside urs." Then we were like, so??? And he said that its courtesy that we SHOULD ask him first before setting up the equipment beside him.WTF?? We saw an empty space and go for it. We are not obstructing ur view or liked gonna spoiled ur camera, so why do we NEED to ask for permission?? Ppl nowadays are getting more and more ridiculous. Next time we would be expected to ask permission to walk pass them i guess...sigh..bad start for the fireworks, so didn't really enjoy it. Also find that the fireworks is not as good as last night's (went with my colleagues). Remember what Augustine told me about fireworks at Walt Disney..Boom..and there is Tinklebell...another boom and there is Peter Pan..unlike the ones we saw, boom...and just a normal pattern. Wish i could see those at Disney... :P

Promotion treat

After gotten my increment and bonus last month, have yet to treat my family to a proper dinner, thus decided to do it today. We went to Treetop Restaurant at the new Civil Servant Club House at Bukit Batok. Find that the food there so-so only and the service not very good too. At the very least they should have employed someone who understand english right, the manager or is it the captain obviously doesn't understand english. In addition he missed out one of our order, where i have specifically told him twice that i wanted that dish.. *faints*. However the restaurant is packed of ppl!!

The restaurant

My parents

My sis n bro-in-law

Me n my granny

shark's Fin soup

Sweet n sour fish

Hot plate tofu

Chilli crab - my favourite :D
Fried bun
Sotong You Tiao
Peking duck
Lastly, E-Fu noddle with the duck

Didnt manage to finish the last dish thou and thus packed it back for tomorrow's lunch.

A weekend of retreat - 30/07/06

Check out of the chalet at 10am, after which we went to Changi Central for their ever famous Nasi Lemak. Actually dun find it particularly nice or special. Its just a normal Nasi Lemak mah..and we spend almost half an hr queueing for it. The quantity is little and its expensive, so what the fuss about? I just dun get it..

Went home to put my bag and flowers after which Law and I went to Westmall to watch Dragon Tigher Gate. The newapaper only gave it 1 star, but we still decided to watch it, since it has been a long time we have last watched a chinese movie (must support HK movie industry shouldnt we ;p) The show was quite nice, but then i find all the actors trying to act cool..lol all with one eye being covered by their fringe! Dun they find it irritating?!!??! Dunno how they can fight without seeing the opponent properly.

After the show, went to Law's house. Did a mental plan of how we are suppose to clean up his room...hai..guy's room is always...erm...you know lah...messy...full of rubbish and unwanted things...next time if got chance, would take a pic and post it on my blog :P Must show the before clean up and after clean up pics lol..

A weekend of retreat - 29/07/06

Slept at 4am last night, thus only woke up ard 12noon. Haha everyone was dead tired...Went for lunch at the food junction there then went for a swim. Hehe..first time seeing Yishan wearing a Bikin leh!! Wwoo..so sexy (she is going to kill me for saying this) haha.. However, bad thing of getting chalet on a weekend: there are just too many ppl and its so crowded!!!! Very hard to swim in the pool.

As today is me and law's first yr anniversary, we decided to have our dinner outside :P. We went off early so that we can have a little time to ourselves and be back for the later part of the BBQ and not miss the rest of my poly classmates who turned up. We went to our favour place for dinner, that is Ellenborough Market Cafe at Merchant Court. They are famous for their Durian Puree, which is being made out of quality durians. They also serve fresh raw salmons and Oysters. Their main course is only so-so but they do serve Shark's Fin soup. But what i liked most is their deserts!! Chocolate Fondu, Glutinous Rice Balls, fried ice-creams, cakes and puddings!! Yummy!! Bad news!! Camera batt went flat!!! Sob sob....so no pics ....sob.......
Taken outside the resturant and the last pic with my cam sob sob...

When we went back to Downtown East, its already 9pm+. Most of my polymates turned up and are feasting on the food! They even bought more food like Bee Hoon (from Jingfong), Chicken Curry (from Yuhua), Bobo ChaCha (from Bingying). Too bad we are already bursting from our dinner, if not would have joined them. Quite a few unexpected faces turned up too like Quirong, Yuhua & bf, Steve, Alvin..Surprised that Steve is working as an auditor at PWC! So plus Lifang, Jingfong, Jan, we are all working in the Big fours! Well actually its quite expected right, cos all of us graduated from Accountancy..lol Overall, its a great night of chit chat, gossip and great food. Thanks guys for making it such a wonderful and successful class gathering. Will post the pics after Yishan has uploaded the photos (taken from her cam)

And thanks dear, for the nice dinner and beautiful flowers. Sorry that we got to spend our 1st yr anniversary at my class gathering, but i think u dun mind too right :P

A weekend of retreat - 28/07/06

Am on leave today. Its the start of my long weekend!! Went to Ding Tai Feng at Wisma for lunch with Dad, Granny and mom (my treat! :P). They are famous for their Xiao Long Pau, which would have soup spurring out when you bite it!! lol...Its quite nice. Too bad, forgot to bring down the cam, so no pics of the delicious food. Tried their fried rice too. Not bad, its not those dry type. Dad and granny tried their noodles..ok only. So i would recommend you guys to try the fried rice and Xiao Long Pau if you are going there.

After lunch, went for a session of massage before heading down to Downtown East. Yes, me having a poly fren chalet for the weekend! Its the first chalet that Yishan has ever organised. Ok first back to the topic of the massage. The company that i went to is called Bodywellness. Shared a package with my mom where each of us bought 25 sessions each (abt $53 per session). The place is good and the music is nice and relaxing. Today i did a Ginseng Massage, but before that, did a Apple bodyscrub plus a goats milk hydro-bath (the body scrub and hydro-bath is free for all members and has unlimited usage). The massage took about an hr where they would use ginseng to massage after which they would use a hot blanket to cover you to allow your skin to absorb the essence of the ginseng. Too bad for Bodywellness, its only for ladies, no men allow, if not can go for couple massage :P
The massage room

Meet up with Yishan, Jingyun, Xiaowei and her bf at Pasir Ris MRT at 5pm. We went to NTUC to buy the foods such as Chicken Wings, Sauages, Otahs, Sotong Balls and some seasonings before going into Downtown East. The room we had is quite near to our pit (luckily). We set off to work - to clear up the place and to season our chicken wings. Law joined us after his work and guess what!! He bought me flowers!! 24 pink roses for our 1st yr anniversary tomorrow! :)
Arent they nice..

Was so happy..and of cos my frens are very envious hahaha.. :P As the BBQ is tomorrow, so we bought some cup noodles for dinner tonight. Well, got to clear our stomach for the big feast tomorrow night ya ;P . We went to explore the place at night and ya, we started playing Indian Poker again..haha dunno why am so hooked onto this game!!

Glad to know you!!!!

I got to know Annie @ Yuxi through Candice. Remember my earlier blog where i went to be a "model" for a friend to do makeup so that she can put it in her portfolio? Thats her, my first makeup artist. :)

Got to know Annie more in the past one week where we have been msning each other (during work...lol). She is a nice, straight forward, no hidden agenda type of person. The world needs more of such person man!! And the world would be a much nicer place and easier to live. She makes me feel at ease, to be able to speak my mind and to share secrets. Thanks for listening to me grumbling Annie, i really appreciated it (especially just now).

Haha, now let me shared with you what Annie mentioned about my birth date. As you guys know, my birthday is on the 13th Dec. So the 13th and 12th letters in the alphabets are M and L...and when i am born, the world is filled with even more love! So ML = Make Love...so my birthday is a Make Love Day!!! Lol.....

Annie, you really made my day..thanks for being a friend.

What an amazing creature human is

Humans are very complicated being and are big fat liar no matter how sweet, demure or honest looking they are.

It really amazed me at how fast things seems to change and how people's mood seems to change. You can be happy one moment and sad the next. You can be friendly this moment and nasty the next. You can be sweet this moment and fierce the next. What you don't allow ppl to do to you, you allow yourself to do it to them.

What can be done in last year's audit suddenly become unacceptable this year. You wan me to do this now and completely change it next. You told me you would be going back to office but when i called, you are not there. So if you are not in the office and not at client's place, where the hack are you. Can i do that too since now i am a senior?? I would love to but i wouldn't dare. And so the list goes on and on and on.....haiz.....

Its hard to live in a world like this......
