Jiahui's bday

Been a long long time since i last meet up with the gals. We always wait till its someone's bday then we meet. Haii..we need to change this habit...try to meet up more often ok gals? Anyway, its Jaihui's birthday today! Wanna wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY, stay sweet, beautiful and healthy and may you find your Mr Right soon... ps: do update me abt "that guy" :P

Met up with Jiahui at Raffes City first while waiting for Xuehui. Walked past J.Co and decided to get some donuts. The craze is over and there is no queue! The donuts are not bad...but i still prefer those from Taiwan.

We went to Straits Cafe at Hotel Rendezvous for dinner. Been there only once and that was during Christmas in 2006. The spread was good and alot! However, this time round, its a bit disappointing. The spread was quite miserable as compared to the $40+ that we each paid...But the company was great and we had a good night, chatting and talking "cock" (with Law too) lol..

Their award winning Laksa

We were so engross in chatting that before we know it, its alr 10pm and they are closing the buffet line. So halfway through our main course, we rush and get some desserts before they are being kept away..In the end, i think due to our excitment...erm...we took a "little" too much..haha

And we got a ice cream each.

And of cos Law

Gals, we should meet up more often..but not to Rendezvous. :P

Sentosa Carkis

Law's crazy love for car is a known fact. So what do you get when u put a bunch of guys, with the same crazy love for their own cars together? Yeah..u r right..its a bunch of grown men, with their cars, doing silly things. What i am referring to...is the "Sentosa Carki". Its a small car club created by his sentosa colleagues, to discuss about car modifications, good lobangs and organise road trips. They customised tshirts, car sticks and planned driving trips to Malaysia. Its often only to JB, but recently, they extended that to Melaka. As most of the members are in the tourism industry, weekends are a no no for such road trips. So its often in the nights of the weekdays. As i am not as busy recently, i joined them for a night trip to Melaka and took leave the next day. The trip started ard 11pm, reached Melaka at 3am, have supper, then head back and reached JB at 6am...after the jammed at the checkpoint, i reached home at 7am. The crazy thing was that, we drove all the way to Melaka at night, have supper and drove all the way back...lol..well like that Law said, its the "driving" that counts, not the food...duhz...
The cars in the car club.
Owners with their cars (we are the ones behind the couple with the soft toys)
A group photo
There are altogether 6 cars on the road trip to Melaka. Its quite fun actually (minus the fact that i am struggling to stay awake for most of the time), travelling in a group. Hopefully the next trip would be a shorter one :P

Farewell

One of my batch's colleague "ditch" us (after 4 yrs of fighting peak together) last Thursday to join 2 of my ex-mangers. She is going over to the greener pasture to enjoy fresher air with a more stable but inflexible working hours, haha.

Stupid mistake

Made a very very stupid mistake yesterday...i bought midnite tickets for Mummy 3 and went to Taste of Singapore to look for ah dear at ard 10pm. After complaining that i hasnt eaten any durians since the start of the season, ah dear bought me some D24 durians (but got to collect it at his outlet)..so there i am sitting outside his restaurant eating my durian happily. At 1030, realised that we would be late for the movie (at 1120pm), i started to nag at ah dear to hurry up...

Managed to rush to The Cathay at 1125 (5 mins late). Due to time constraint, we decide to work separately with me collecting the tickets and ah dear buying the popcorn. The queue at the ticket booth was quite long and i was cursing that old man infront of me for taking his own sweet time, choosing the movie (discussing with the counter personnel on which movie should he and his wife watch!!). Finally its my turn and the lady swipe my credit card...one time, two time...nothing found. Thus the lady asked for my confirmation number..upon looking at it..she gave me a funny look and said that, "Sorry miss, your confirmation number is for Cathay at Cineleisure. Not The Cathay. Our confirmation start with number 3xxx." I was stunned on the spot and started to panic!!! Hated myself for being so stupid!! Those tickets cost me $22!!! And i am already 10 mins late!! I quickly ran to Law but too late, he has already bought the popcorn combo..i told him wat happened and he being his usual self, calmly said that we should catch a cab down to Cineleisure.

Not wanting to waste the $22, thats our only choice ...so down we went, after another 15 mins and $7.20 poorer, we are at Cathay Cineleisure.. In all, not too bad, we were only late for 25 mins, minus away advertisment time, i think we didnt miss much...haha..got to thanks ah dear for being the calm one..lol

3rd anniversary

We celebrated our 3rd anniversary on 29 Jul. Time seems to fly. In an twitch of an eye, it has been 3 yrs..still remember that day, 3 yrs ago..we were at Kranji Reservoir (mind you, there are ALOT of mosquitoes!) when we decided to start out together. Famous quote of that day (by me) was, "To give it a try". And nowadays, Law always cite," Its gonna to be a trial of a life time." :)

Well, seriously after 3 yrs, there isnt much place we can go..and since we has got the ASA card with us, we decided to make full use out of it. First stop, lunch at Seah Inn hawker center.

The best way to satisfy hunger: Loh Mee with a cool refreshing sugar cane drink at Seah Inn!! The best Loh Mee i had so far (after Bukit Ho Swee).

At Images of Singapore (while waiting for the 4D matrix show):

Hee..acting as a coolie

Me, acting as the rich tai tai on a rickshaw. :P

Actually our 1st stop is to 4D matrix, but as we just missed the show time, thus we went to Images of Singapore (to enjoy air con :P)..but half way thru Images of Singapore, we realised that the next show would be starting soon (half hr interval). We rushed back, but in the end, we missed it again. Not wanting to miss it another time, we stood in the queue for half an hr and not gg anywhere.

While waiting...

With the obit 4D glasses.

4D matirx, unlike the normal 3D show that we have watched before, includes not only 3D images, but plus additional sensation, that is the physical "touch". There is wind blowing, water spraying and feet brushing, to make your experience more real.

Next stop is to take the cable car to Mount Faber, Jewel Box.

IR on the way

The big heart outside Cable Car Station at Mount Faber.

At Jewel box: My cam is not very clear, but that table (plus setting) that i am trying to take is very Victorian in style, with the hanging chandeliers, high back chairs and wine glasses. Its very glam..hmm..maybe one day we can gather 10 ppl and book that table :P

Me with my Mango Margarita (think their strawberry one is better).

The restaurant is empty. Haa..feels like we have booked the whole rest to ourselves to enjoy some privacy. :D Actually, its quite nice to sit there on a hot day, enjoying the air con, the company and have a little chit chat with some drinks (except that it feels funny to be drinking so early in the day). Felt so relax and lazy ... :P

Dinner was at Minori (Jap buffet) at UE Sqaure. We like to patronise this restaurant for its wide variety of food , quality salmon sashimi and crispy handrolls.

We are dead hungry after an afternoon of walking and sweating. There were quite a crowd at Minori, thus we waited for quite some time before the food came.

We waited...and

waited...and

Finally the food came!

Arrrhhhh (some spaghetti, quite tasty).... then more food..

Californa handrolls

Beef with tomato. Very uique and nice. Can taste the freshness and sweetness of the beef.

See all the juices and how raw it is..

Udon curry noodle. Yummy!!

Then we waited again...and...

waited..but no food...we became bored...so........

we started to entertain ourselves..haha...

Then, the food finally arrived ....

And after all these.....

We are so full. But we came prepare!! :X <-- evil grin...

Haha !! We brought ENO!!!

Doesnt it look like some acidic poison?!?!

Last stop for the day: Singapore River cruise, from Clark Quay to Esplande and back. Imagine for 27 years of my life, this is my first time on the Singapore River Cruise! Duhz...call myself a Singaporean...tsk tsk tsk...

A day well spent. HAPPY 3rd ANNIVERSARY dear..
