You are Gold Lion, who is rather serious and polite type of person.

You value personal relationships.

You suppress yourself and act to be a sociable person.

But you are really a person who doesn't like to loose to anyone.

You dislike emotional atmosphere and vague attitude.

You want to make everything clear-cut.

You like to stay in your own little world.

If you get in a situation where there are lots of people you can not express yourself and act as a perfect person.

You are not very subjective sort of person, unlike ordinary women, but unfortunately you lack soft and gentle atmosphere.

You tend to be too bold.

You cannot help but stretch your hand to those who are in need.

You are very kind person who helps the weak.

You are also weak on compliments, and will work enthusiastically after someone has given a compliment.

You will go about your duty steadily and loyally, and not get in a rush to achieve the objective.

You have perseverance, and will work effortlessly until you reach your objective.

Something that you have worked steadily for a long, long time, will turn out to be an asset to the world.

You are careful and rational, and therefore place value to steady life.

After getting married, you will be a devoted mother and a wife, but you are really a very dependent person, and prefer to keep your own little world.

Halloween!!

Origin of Halloween

Halloween is a tradition celebrated on the night of October 31, most notably by children dressing in costumes and going door-to-door collecting sweets. The term Halloween, and its older spelling Hallowe'en, is shortened from All-hallow-even, as it is the evening before "All Hallows' Day"[2] (also known as "All Saints' Day"). The holiday was a day of religious festivities in various northern European Pagan traditions, until Pope Gregory III moved the old Christian feast of All Saints Day to November 1 to give Halloween a Christian interpretation.

Halloween is most porpular in Ireland, where the Celts celebrated Halloween as Samhain, "End of Summer," a pastoral and agricultural fire festival or feast, when the dead revisited the mortal world, and large communal bonfires would be lit to ward off evil spirits. According to what can be reconstructed of the beliefs of the ancient Celts, the bright half of the year ended around November 1. As October 31st is the last day of the bright half of the year, the next day also meant the beginning of Winter, which the Celts often associated with human death, and with the slaughter of livestock to provide meat for the coming Winter. The Celts also believed that on October 31, the boundary separating the dead from the living became blurred. There is a rich and unusual myth system at work here; the spirit world, the residence of the "Sídhe," as well as of the dead, was accessible through burial mounds. These mounds opened at two times during the year, Samhain and Beltane, making the beginning and end of Summer highly spiritually resonant.

Sigh..too bad Singapore doesnt really celebrate Halloween, if not it would be damn fun. Look what i saw at Giant @ IMM today.

Doesnt it really brings up the festive mood?? :)

Selegie 豆 花

Met up with Serene and Yongjun (a fren that i know thru friendster/msn) yesterday. Think it has been more than a yr since i last met him. Won a few rounds of Minesweepers in MSN from him thus this free treat of Selegie's 豆 花... :P We went for dinner at Hans @ National Library, Bugis. This branch has more food than the ones at Raffles place! Me ordered a Spaghetti that was cooked in a "Mee Rebus" style. Its spicy with a unique flavour. Quite nice. :)

Yongjun ordered Fish and Chips..but look at his wedges..haha only 3!!! So miserable...

After which we walked to Selegie for their famous 豆 花 .Actually i have tried their 豆 花 水 when i was auditing Casio (office nearby). The texture is quite smooth, but the 油 条 is nothing to shout about. Quite soggi..still prefer the ones at Gelyang, where its serve hot and cripsy!!!

Me and Serene

It has been a nice week for me, meeting up lots of frens for dinner and for chats. Guess in the next month or two, i wont have a lot of time to meet u guys, but of cos we can still stay in contact thru phone and msn ya. So if there is any meeting up or gathering, remember to call me! I will still try to make it.

Today marks the last weekday of my leave, tot i would be staying at home to spend the day, but dear called me early in the morning to "book" my time for the night (afraid that i would be gg out with frens again)..haha..guess its a bit "Kua Zhang" to use the word book right..but anyway looking forward to tomolo's blood donation drive. Have never helped out in such an event before..hopes that everything will go well...

New York New York

Went to this new restaurant at Citylink called New York New York yesterday. Its quite a nice place with very urban design. The pricing is also quite reasonable.

They have nice seats!

Actually the main purpose of meeting up is to celebrate belated birthdays of Cheryl and Daphne..Haha its always our practice..to celebrate belated birthdays..so bad right..must change must change... :P

Daphne with her new Jacket from Fox

A grp pic - look at the blackground..nice right!

The best part of the restaurant is that, they served FREE CANDY FLOSS. And its self made one. When we were standing stupidly at the machine, the manager came over and taught us how to use it..haha and he is quite a joker..insisted that the candy floss is salty and its orange flavour (when its obviously apple flavour)..duhz...
Proudly present my first ever self-made candy floss..the shape looks quite good right..roundy :P

The desserts are quite limited..mainly waffers, and only 1 mudpie. But its quite a special mudpie, unlike the one from NYDC, this is more crispy and more biscuit like. Err... even though it doesn't look very nice, but it taste delicious!

The waffers looks good but the taste is normal..nothing special

Overall the food is quite good and place also quite nice. Definitely will go back again.

Meeting up old frens

Met up with Justin, his gf, Lifang and Qingyou aka Quentin yesterday for dinner. It has been more than half a year since we last met. And things has since changed. :) Justin was still studying at that point of time and now, he has graduated and has become the educator for the country's future (haha..teacher lah..). As for Quentin, he went back to Australia, graduated from his Uni and came back. And me?? At KPMG at that time and am still at KPMG now..lol...

We went to Raku Ninja, a jap rest at Citylink for dinner. Quite a good place and has nice cushions to cuddle :P On the way there, saw someone carrying the Wall Calendar from Precious Moments!! Its out!! Went to get one at Marina Square. Kaisu u might say..but i didnt manage to get the 2005 and 2006's calendar as they were being sold out in a very short period of time! Even when i bought the 2007's calendar, the sales girl told me that its selling very fast and they only have a few pieces left. So if u wanna get urs, better get it quick!

Its in a very sweet shade of pink

Some close up details:

After that, went to watch moive at Marina Square (Law joined us):

Movie : Death Note

Major Casts : Tatsuya Fujiwara, Kenichi Matsuyama

Duration : About 2 hours

My rating : 3/5 (Find the movie a bit draggy and dun like the ending..cos its those no conclusion type and u got to wait til the second movie to find out...duhz..)

PS: Thanks Justin for the dinner and the movie! And Quentin, remembered you said u wanna give me the PM card har... :P

Happy Deepavali

Happy Deepavali!! Deepavali normally doesnt have any impact on me and of cos there wouldn't be any festive mood. But its a different story for my aunt as she has married an Indian. Deepavali which is also known as festival of lights is when the hindus light the oil lamps. By doing so, it represents that the Hindus are thanking the gods for the happiness, knowledge, peace and wealth that they have received. Thus on this big day, my aunt has a Deepavali lunch celebration. They have the traditional food like the "koropo", mutton curry, pineapple rice...Was looking thru the photo albums when i came across their wedding photos. That was in 1993 when i was 13 yrs old..haha cant believed i looked that way when i was 13!! And how times flies..cousins grew up, got married and my aunt has 3 kids alr, with the eldest alr in sec 1 this year.

Taken with Krisha - my aunt's 2nd daughter

When going home, my dad made the silliest mistake ever! He was trying to off the alarm of his car, but due to weak batt (from his controller), he wasnt able to disable the alarm and when he open the door, the alarm went off. In a state of panic, he left his wallet on the roof of the car and got into the car to disable it. After that, he completely forgot about his wallet and simply drove off...only realised what happen upon reaching home...duhz...luckily some kind hearted and honest guy found the wallet and called up..else it would be damn troublesome to replace all the credit cards and IC...

Went to Yutang's house for BBQ at night. Law went along too. U never guessed where we have the BBQ...its actually at the baloncy attached with his room on the 2nd floor. When the curtains are drawn, u would never tell that there is a balcony out there. You have to step over the ledge to get over to the other side

Its a cosy spot where it can accomodate abt 10 ppl and Yutang has given this place a name! Its know as the "Secret Place"..lol

Yutang sitting here looking after the BBQ, CY working on the chichen wings and Boo boo at the back flipping the food. Its a nice night knowing more new frens and listening to Boo Boo talking about his travel adventures! Its a good night, but too bad we got to leave early as Law is working morning shift tomolo.

Thinking thinking and thinking

Have been doing a lot of thinking lately. Maybe its the way i blog (only write about good things) that makes u guys think that i am very happy with my life now, carefree, on leave, rotting at home. But to tell u the truth, i am actually quite stressed up. No doubt i am on leave for 2 weeks, but on and off i have to go back to office to clear stuffs, to attend client meetings, meetings with managers and going for courses...so what kind of leave is this? I have to stay at home to wait for emails to correspond and to coordinate work from home.

Ya maybe i am too free at home and thus am starting to think about my future in life and also my career..i was being told that i have been rather bad tempered, moody and inconsiderate and have been complaining and nagging..but i dun wanna do that forever. I am not like that in the past. According to my sis, i am a sweet tempered and considerate gal. And its really tiring to be worrying all the time and to rush things to be done. And i also dun wanna spend the rest of my life waiting, waiting and waiting...

Maybe a change of job would be good? But seriously speaking, i quite like audit..maybe change of company is a better move...change to one whereby senior doesnt need to review files, doesnt need to go for client's meeting, doesnt need to take stupid mins of the meetings..in another words, a high class GA!! Isnt that great! Maybe...would consider this move after my peak..to see how far i can tahan...

Phuket - 06/10 - 08/10 (Annual KPMG Unit trip)

Finally i have finished uploading all the pics onto Multiply and have the time to update on this long over due blog. But am lazy to give details :P so here is a brief blogging of what i have done:
Went on a 3 days retreat to Phuket from 06/10 - 08/10 with my company. Its only slightly subsidized and we have to pay the bulk of it. But anyway, its a great trip with great company. There are altogther 30 of us and we were staying at Royal Paradise Hotel, which is about 10 mins walk from Patong Beach.

On the first day, we went to visit some tourist attractions like their temples, Cashew Nut Factory. The rest of the day is free and easy and we went to explore the beach.

Second day- We went to Phi Phi island for snorkeling. At first was very excited as i heard that its a good place to dive! But in the end, everyone was disappointed. The spot where they brought us for snorkelling was very dirty. The water was choppy and visibility underwater is a good as zero. Couldn't even take a decent underwater pic. But luckily we still have quite a good time back at the shore, whereby we just went for a bit of swimming and photo taking...haha
Trying to keep still for the pic

Posing for the cam

After returning to mainland, we were dropped off at some shopping area to spend the rest of the evening until dinner time. But an afternoon of dealing with choppy waters, everyone was tired. Thus we stopped over at Swensens and have some ice-creams!!

Ice cream fondue

And on the last day, we went for a cave tour. Its quite an interesting tour as the whole cave is flooded with water and each of us need to carry a Head Light (like those rubber plantation workers). The first part of the journey is being done on canoe and the rest of the journey require us to walk in water with the depth that is reaching my knees (we were pre-warned thus everyone was in shorts). Its actually a Limestone cave. Nothing spectular and the only fun part is the water adventure thats all...
While waiting for the canoe to ferry us into the cave

As this cave is quite far away from town (2 hrs drive), thus when we came back to Phuket its time to go for dinner. Then after that, its time to go home!
At the airport

Then its home sweet home. For pics on the trip, click here

World Trade Centre

Brought my granny to watch World Trade Center at Westmall this morning. At first there were only the 2 of us (which is not suprising as its a Wednesday morning). But subsequently, more ppl came in and a WHOLE row of BOYS (should be in their late teens) sat right in front of us. Sometimes i feel that the ticket seller can be so stupid! The whole cinema is practically empty and yet she has to squeeze everyone into the last two rows!!! Thats not the worst...these BOYS being in their late teens has load of energy and "anger"...every sentences that they said come with typical hokkien #@&*@@ words. And they are so loud throughout the movie, taking pics with hps, answering calls!! Feel like knocking on their heads and asking them to SHUT UP..such inconsiderate ppl... Justin : i wonder if the kids u teach are like that...and how u can stand them?!?!?!
Anyway, its a good movie (minus out all the distractions). Its based on the truth experience of two Port Authority Police Department officers (John McLoughlin and Will Jimeno) who were trapped beneath the wreckage of the fallen World Trade Center. Its a very touching story and yes, have been crying throughout the show.

Movie : World Trade Center

Major Casts : Nicolas Cage, Michael Pena, Maria Bello

Duration : About 2 hours

My rating : 4/5

SNEC n Vivo City

Went for my 2nd check up at Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) yesterday morning (at 10.20am). The first time took me 2 hrs before i got to see the senior consultant..and yesterday....in a mere 10 mins, i am done with the consultation and the normal eye checkup!! Sad thing is, i have a meeting with my manager in office at 2pm later in the afternoon. So that means i got heap of free time on hand!! Anyway, the Dr said my eyes are recovering and 2 months down the road, they should have fully recovered. However, even if recovered, i cannot continue to wear my soft lens. My options are 1) wear hard lens, 2) go for laser and 3) of cos..to continue to wear my glasses....duhz....

Anyway, went to CityLink to pass my free time. After work, met up with Law and we went to VivoCity. Think this place is going to be the next hipest shopping center in Singapore. The building isnt very tall but the area is sure big. They have lots of shops and restaurants opening in the building. In addition, GV has 15 cinemas in it! Hehe..so i guess next time when i am early meeting Law or when he is late (most likely the case), i would have somewhere to pass my time... :P

好事成双

I am very impressed with myself today. I bought 2 tops from Mango, 2 T-shirts from Isetan, 2 pair of shoes (1 from Charles and Keith n 1 from U.R.S) and 2 accessories from MintMark & Co. (1 for Daphne as Bday present n a Bracelet for myself) plus i went for my first IPL treatment at LifeSpa and lastly visited the Taka Library to pay fine for my overdue book and to borrow a new one. All these were being done in a mere 3 and a half hrs and ALONE!! Yes, i went shopping alone...impressive isn't it..haha my first time i would say (dont count those time when i went shopping alone after work...)

I have signed up for the IPL treatment since last nov~dec. Took me almost a yr to start my first session! Well..my reluctance to start the program is because once u started it, u have to go for it continuously for all the 5 sessions with 16 days apart from each session. This means that for these 16 days, i cant shave...well have to resort to wearing tops with sleeves or restrain myself from lifting up my arms!! The session only took me half an hr.

After the treatment (Lifespa is at Pacific Plaza), i just hoped next door, Mango for some shopping. Actually i rarely find suitable clothes at Mango, but today, in just a short while, i managed to get 2!
Black spagehtti top (for office wear) and a white halter neck top with fine butterfly prints (for outside wear)

Due to Law's constant nagging of me always wearing sleeveless tops, i got myself 2 t-shirts from Isetan
Both priced at $13 each : black from FQ&L and pink from Surfer's Paradise

Also have been looking for comforty shopping sandals for the longest time i can remember and Ta Da, managed to get a one from Charles and Keith for $17+ :P

Also got a pair of heels from U.R.S ..they are having 20% disc!! This pair cost me $22+

After that, headed to Taka to source Bday present for Daphne. Was shopping around when accessories from MintMark & Co catches my eyes. Its located at the old Moshi Moshi. At first i didnt realised its a new shop. I was still wondering, since when did Moshi Moshi's designs became so stylish and up class?? This is for Daphne, its a necklace. Wont be showing the desgin in case she decides to read my blog...
Am pretty impressed with regards to their packaging too. It came in a box that looks like those that you buy from Gold Heart or Sookee.

I also got myself a bracelet to replace the one which i liked alot but had dropped a couple of months ago (after hinting for a long looonnnggg time and no one wanna get me a new one, i decided to pamper myself and get one for myself lah...)

Its a simple bracelet with 3 hearts at the end. All right, now i declare that MintMark & Co would be my current favourite brand for middle range pricing for accessories!!

M.O.S

Yippee! Today is friday and i am on leave for the next 2 weeks (no doubt i still need to go back to office for a couple of days). No mood to work as the partner and most of the managers are not in. Taking advantage of such situation, we had quite a long lunch (Jap food followed by tea at Wang Jiao).

Met up with ex-colleagues from Opto after work to celebrate Selina's birthday. Went to MOS (Ministry of Sound). As Selina is a member there, she is able to sign us in without the need to pay for the cover charge. This is my first time to MOS. Had heard lots about it and how great it is...but was a bit disappointing when i reached there. The music aint great and the place is not as nice as what they have described. The only plus point is that the bouncers looks cute :P and the toilets are in shade of pink and white (so sweet!!). Selina booked a table right in front of the dance floor (haha so there are easy access to it). They order shots and open bottles. Knowing myself, i limited myself to only one shot of "Sex on the beach" and a glass of whisky cum green tea.

They tried to get Selina drunk by buying her "Waterfall" and "Lambogeni" but she is still as sober as always...lol...

KPMG 2006 Annual Seniors Conference

Today is KPMG Annual's Senior Conference and its held at Orchard Country Club. Was looking forward to it ever since i received the invitation to go. At least its a day off work to have some fun! The country club is quite a nice place and the grand ballroom is huge! We have about 59 tables and there are still lots of space in the room!

At the arrival area

The senior conference is for all the seniors (S3 + S4) and the assistant managers. There are 11 of us from our unit but we were all splitted up into different tables. I was assigned to table 3, right in front! Thus abt to take a decent shot of the stage.

Overall, i would say that the conference is quite a good one. It has made me realised and learn more things about KPMG, eg, i don't know that our HR Director, Steven is actually a member of PIC (the band performing at Wala Wala, and they are really good at it!), our Marketing Director, Philip is also the author of Little Miracles (a book about the things he experience in parenthood and the problems he and his wife faced during the pregnancy period). He was also on the chinese doucmentary show (sat 9.30pm) about couples who have difficulties in bearing a baby, talking about his experiences (i watched that show! And yet i didnt realised its him!! lol...) So we have famous ppl in our company ...

There are also questions and answers session whereby we are suppose to write down things which we hoped that the company can change or improve on and the head of the department would then look into it and see if there are feasible ways to do it. I feel that this is good, especially when the company is actually taking us seriously and making plans to change the system. Such changes can be seen in the past one year: modifying our leave system, raising the OT cap levels. However there are also some "culture" problems which Singapore, being an Asian country, having asian behaviours (unlike the westerners), its very hard for us to take the lead and voice out / change the so call "common bad practice" that some of our managers has..so i guess in that, we still need more time to do it.

Meals are provided throughout the day; breakfast, morning tea break, lunch, afternoon tea break, cocktail session and finally dinner. At the end of the day, the company presented everyone a special "Treat" which is a free Membership card at The Legends (@ fort canning hill).

The dinner was quite good and the ambience was nice. PIC was playing nice songs throughout the dinner.
Buffet food:
Today is Calvin's last day, thus we decided to have a farewell lunch at Vila'ge @ China Square Central. It has the exact same concept as Marche whereby u go by the card system. Me, JY and V ordered a few dishes to share.

Inside Vila'ge:

Some food that we ordered:
My Root Beer
Chicken sauage with rosti and egg
Chicken mushroom ham with cheese crepes

Seafood baked rice

After work, went down to Blue Reef to collect our Advance Dive licence. YES, its here finally and i no longer need to use that miserable temp cardboard licence!! I am now a truly certified Advance Diver. Yeah!!!!!!!! In a way of celebrating, haha..i bought the pink weight belt which i have been aiming since jul..of cos that is after Kaz giving me 30% discount. :P At least with the pink weight belt, i am more identifiable underwater....lol..

PS Calvin: Its great knowing you as a colleague as well as a fren. And its really enjoyable to go for FFF night with you around. Its a lost to the company for not keeping you and its a gain to Natsteels for manging to employ you! All the best to your future and do join us for our future FFF nights!!
