How time flies

It has been a yr since Yutang left us. How time flies... Me and Law went to the accident site, a short while after midnight, with some food bought from the coffee shop opposite Beauty World. That was also the last place where we had supper with him that fatal night. Upon reaching the site did we realise that the tree in which Yutang had crashed into was gone!! All the other trees are there except that particular one..hmmm..

The next day, met up with Xuehui, Candice and together with Law, we went to buy some offerings and went to Guang Ming Shan. There are quite alot of ppl there! On a weekday?? Then we realised that Qing Ming has already started. As me and Law were rushing to work, we didnt stayed til the end with xuehui, candice and the rest.

Candice told me that Yutang had "tou meng" to one of his fren saying that he is gg for recarination (which if is true, he would have recarinated by now). Hopefully that its really the case...but we will still remain praying for him..

Estella's 1st Birthday!!!!!!!

We celebrated Estella's 1st bday last sunday. According to my aunt, we need to let the baby eat all kinds of food on that day so that she wont be fussy with her food when she is growing up.

Haa...can see that she really enjoys her drumstick!

Estella is really closed to her mom. Whenever other ppl tries to carry her, she would cry! She just refuse to let me hold her.. :( Nvm, Trishelle always welcome me..hee i go carry her...

Cheers~

Our little princess is in a good mood today. She even let Law hold her! (even thou in a weird position .. haha!)

Cupcake Craze

Recently i took an interest in baking cupcakes. Here is my first attempt:

Unfrosted Chocolate cupcakes

The recipe is different from the ones i normally used. This one include using yoghurt. The difficult part of making cupcakes is not the cupcakes itself, its actually the decoration part..

My very first Fondant sugar art. Not bad for a 1st timer yeah. :D

Some other sugar craft using Fondant

And the end product

Dilemma

It comes to the part of the year where we are doing our first round of appraisals for the yearly promotion consideration. In the current year however, we need to do not only downwards appraisal (our juniors), but also upwards appraisal (managers). We need to be fair and not to let our personal feelings (ie negative feeling for that staff) to cloud our professional judgement ...which is kinda hard...haha...

In this current peak, i have worked with 2 specific managers so far and as a part of our appraisal, we need to state down things which we want the managers to continue to do and things which we want them to stop doing. These 2 managers of mine is however quite different from each other. For manager A, i only manage to state downs things which i would like him to continue to do and i couldnt think of what actions should he stop doing. For manager B, i can write down a whole long list of things which i would like her to stop doing, but i just cant think of something which i think she should continue to do!!! But its mandatory for us to fill in both boxes....duhz...never expect to have problems in appraising managers...

A little shopping spree

Law is off today and we have decided to run a couple of errands that have been outstanding for quite some time.

Our first stop is to Vivocity. Agenda accomplished include opening an acct with standardChartered Bank, renewal of my Island Card and shopping for Estella 1st yr bday (in which bday party is on next sat). Finished everything in an hr..luckily we dont need to join the long queue at Std Chart bank (not sure why, but the customer svc ppl just usher us in and attended to us straight away). Saw what we wanna buy for Estella shortly after we went into Toy'r'us (so didnt spend much time choosing wat to buy). As Law did not drive today, he got to lug the "toy" around for the rest of the day. Poor ah dear, as the present is not exactly small in size.

Its slightly taller than my piano chair and almost 3/4 as wide!

After that, we rushed down to bugis whereby i am forced to visit a Chinese Sinseh by Law, for my constant cramping of my left leg...the doc is said to be very good. However, i dun have a very good impression on the doc...he seems too confident for his own good. He said that my cramping problems is due to a nerve at my neck shifting place and he guarantee that after i finished his medicines, my problems would be solve. He also "helped" me in shifting my nerves back into place...which is kinda like those thai massage whereby they would hold your neck and twist...he almost twisted my neck off!!! And law said the crack sounds are very loud. Its damn painful too!! Ouch!!! All these cost me $48...
After that, we went to Si Ma Lu temple to pray and headed to Suntec city. Bought tickets for First Rule at 925pm. As it was only abt 6+ when we reached suntect...to kill time, we went to Carrfour to shop. Damage at carrfour; 2 books at $10 each...a steal isnt it! :)

This should keep me gg for quite sometime. :)

Passby Donut Factory and there wasnt a queue. Think the donut craze is finally over!

Bought half a dozen. Just love their peanut dark chocolate donut.

The movie 1st Rule would be quite good if the bunch of "kids" sitting in the same row as us would SHUT UP. Think there are 3 couples of them and the gfs are simply so afraid that they are screaming when the ghost is out and screaming even when the ghost is not out...Duhz...when they are not screaming, they are chatting. Just dun understand. If you are so scare, then dun watch. If you wanna chat, please do it somewhere else. Why paid money to chat in a cinema and scare yourself shitless and at the same time, disturbing others who have paid money to watch the movie and spoiled the show for them? Kids these days.......hai..... Coming back to the show, there is a twist towards the end of the show. I personally dun quite like the ending, as its not a happy ending, but i would say the storyline is still ok.

After the show, we are dead tired..think too used to drive, thus decided to get a cab home rather than taking bus :P

Still a sick chicken

Been a week since i came back from genting and my visitation to the doc. Have finished all the medicines prescribed, but my flu and cough is not getting any better and on the contri, it seems to be getting worse.

Went to the clinic near my place just now and the doc prescribed me yet another set of antibiotics, flu and cough medicine (the cough medicine is in tablet form and not syrup. Said to be more powerful). Then he added,"Dun mean to frighten you, but if you have finished all these and still not recovering, then you need to go and take X-ray." What the.....ya thats not frightening enough...faint....

Well seems that my healthy for 2008 isnt gg to be a very good one. From CNY till now i was already on MC (including today) 3 times and CNY is like just a mth ago.....hai...gg to be a hard year ahead...

My Family & me

It has been a week since i came back to Gentings. Am still sick, thus decided to stay at home to "Yang Bing". Just as i was keeping my bag that i have used for the trip, i chanced upon some old photos of my grandma. Suddenly have the urge to blog abt my family. Haa..seems like a primary school composition title right :P

My dad told me that grandpa has a 5 wives in total with my grandma being the 4th. I have never seen 3rd grandma before, so in my heart, i only have 4 grandmas (Grandma 3 is not in the pic).

See, isnt my grandma a beauty!! (the one in black)

Here is my mom and dad

Photo of my mom taken at Genting. See that logo in the background?

And my dad. So skinny hor...lol

And they got married of cos! :P

Then came my sis. Dun you think Trishelle looks like my sis?!?!

Then came me (my sis carrying me. sis @ age 4)

See i so poor thing. Didnt even have a proper baby chair to sit in. End up my grandma has to stuff old rags into a baby bath tub so that i can sit in it...

I was very vain when i am younger, thus have taken quite some photos. But i think i am cute then too :P (thick skin..haha)

Me @ age 2

Me with dad @ aged 4 with a newly permed curly hair...lol

Here is a pic with my sis. Not sure how old i was..think should be ard 2+ ba

Me with Candice (my cousin) @ genting indoor theme park

There was a period when i went acting in SBC as an "extra" during my school holidays. It was a memorable time. We dun earn alot, abt $15 per day..but it sure was fun!! I am the one on the extreme right wearing the grey overall.

I have quite a blessed and privileged childhood. Visiting to restaurants are never rare. We went on holidays almost very year, if not is very alternate years. Countries which i have been to with my parents include Japan, China, Hong Kong, Korea, Thailand, America, New Zealand, Australia, Switzerland and Pairs, with Japan, China and Australia a few times visiting different parts of the countries.

Disneyland @ Tokyo (age 7)

Disneyland @ California (age 10)

Disneyland @ Paris (age 19)

My most memorable holiday was to Hokkaido. It was winter then and the country was experiencing the worst snow storm in 50 years! No doubt our travelling was disturbed by the snow storm, but i still enjoyed the trip very much as it was my first time seeing fresh falling snow and in great quantity too! Everywhere was covered in thick white snow. It was Christmas when we went to Hokkaido. Thus that yr was really a white christmas for me.

That egg like object is supposed to be a sign board

The snow is really knee deep, we "climbed" all the way in just to see how deep it would go. Its a mistake, as after that my jeans was totally wet...lol

Hee..maybe due to my privileged childhood, i began to "balloon" during my puberty stage.

Class Sec 2D @ TWSS. I was the class monitress then, thus sitting beside our form teacher. Can see i was alr fat then..

Band was my ECA back in sec school. Had alot of fond memories then, training for competition, preparing for performances, doing formations. This photo was taken after our performance at BPHS grand opening.

When i was in poly yr 1 (this is my project teammates)

Err..to show you how much i have ballooned....

Me @ 20 yrs old...

Ya thats me too...hahaa....

But luckily i managed to loose weight after i started working and shortly after my sis got married.

Me @ 25 yrs old

A new slimmer me :P

It was also in the same yr that i got together with law

Haa..we looked so young then :P

And...me at current look: @ last yr Co's D&D. Photo taken end of Dec'07

And in 2007, we have a new addition in the family. Thats my niece, Trishelle :)

Taken @ CNY 2008 Day 2

Well thats all for my family and me topic :) (wow cant imagine, this blog post took me almost 2 and a half hrs to write, including finding and scanning of photos!)

The Leap Years

Went to watch The Leap Years with Law yesterday on free tickets from Jasmine. Thanks gal!! Its a great movie i would say. Much better than expected. At first i tot that it would be a slow and boring show. But the 2 hrs lasted interesting enough with a bit or humor and lots of romance.

I seriously think that such plot will only happen in a movie. Its so fairytale with a happy ending! Would a gal really wait for 12 yrs for a guy! Well, thats what Wong Li Lin in the movie did. Haa..much to my dismay and embarrassment, i cried towards the end of the movie..its just so touching... :D Go watch, its worth it!

Our very first trip

As our pre-scheduled diving trip was cancelled, Law and i decided to go Genting instead. It was a last min decision and luckily we still managed to book the coach and hotel room. Ironically, this is our very first trip oversea together, alone. After 2 and a half yrs together, this is our very first..haha.

We took grassland coach and its good! Its very spacious and the seat could almost be lowered to a lie-down position. Something like those first class seats in an airplane, except that there isnt any pretty stewardess to take orders..lol The ride took us 7 and a half hrs, reaching genting at 3pm.

My personal steward...lol..

Note, that is his own finger (acting cute), i am holding the camera..lol

After my previous horrible experience at First World Hotel, i was a bit reluctant when ah dear says that he is gg to book First World. But as we are on a budget, so i agreed. We are staying at Tower two this time round and the room is very much better than the one i stayed in a few yrs ago. The walls are not yellowish and the ceiling fan doesnt not seems like its going to fall and cut us to pieces...

Even the toilet comes as a whole. The last time we were at First World Hotel, the bathing area and the peeping area is separated into 2 cubic and there is practically no where to hang my clothes when bathing.

The only complain i had about the room is that there is a smell...oh well..i think i can still stand that.

The traditional practice of gg to genting is to go eat the BaKuTeh for the first meal. Imagine you are so cold and hungry, so the best thing is a bowl of hot soup!

Attack!!!

For the 3 days we were there, it has been raining on and off and its very cold! About 14~15 degree on average. Everywhere is very misty.

Went watch Flood at the cinema at night. We went for the Osim massage chair seat which cost RM15 each (abt S$7.50) and we have 2 hrs of massage! Quite a good deal. Even if you dun wan to massage, you can still lower the chair to a lie down position and enjoy the movie, a bit like Singapore's GV gold class? Hee.. The show was quite ok, except that there was these malaysian teenagers which kept talking in the cinema. They were sitting behind me and i dun understand why the ppl beside them can stand them! Is it a norm in Malaysia cinema for pp to talk. At one pt of time, the girl was on the phone and was telling the other party that she is at Genting. Think that person cant hear and she repeated that a few times, getting louder and louder!! Faint...

One thing good abt gg free and easy, you can wake up anytime you wan and not rushing for the hr. Woke up just in time for breakfast at McDonald.

Both of us caught the flu bug and Law was feeling very sick.

Haa..look at his face

Even though he is feeling sick, he still accompany me to have a little walk

After that he simply "cheng bu xia qu le", so we went back to the hotel room for a lie down. While he is sleeping, i went shopping alone and bought some stuffs :P

My purchases...not much actually

After his sleep, ah dear felt better, thus we went to the Theme Park (that was actually 4pm+ in the afternoon le)! :D

We went on the Swing

On the pirate ship

Corkscrew roller coaster

Ferris Wheel

Can see how misty it is. Visbility quite bad and its damn cold!!

Cooooolldddddd!!

Bbbbrrrrrr.....

We sort of skipped lunch for the past 2 days, and dinner was just a simple affair at the hotel foodcourt :P

After which we headed to the casino to try our luck. We played "Da Xiao. At first we were very lucky. Whatever we buy, we win....but then i think our beginner's luck didnt last long and we lost abt RM120 in the end...hai...

We over-slept on sunday morning and woke up at 10+. Checkout is at 12noon, so we decided to washh up, packed and checked out straight away. We deposited our bags at the hotel lobby so that we dun need to carry them ard.

At 23rd floor, this is all we can see when we look out of the window. Its like we are floating in the clouds...quite errie thou...

After skipping lunch for the past 2 days, we decided to treat ourselve to a better meal before leaving, thus we went to Sushi King at Highland hotel.

So hungry

Ah dear's food

Mine

As ah dear is sick, he didnt managed to finish his food..thats quite rare thou :P After lunch, we went to the casino for walk walk and see see then its time to go home le.

While waiting for the bus

Sad that its time to go home. Happy times always dun last..hai..
