Jon:
1) What is love to you?
something that keeps me going in life and makes me smile foolishly alone everyday

2) What do you love your partner for?
the way she change me for the better...its not that i am forced to, but i am willing to just for her.

Candice:
1) What is love to you?
love is unconditional, no question asked and no condition

for loving me and his passion for life and for the things that i also care about.

Qingyou
1) What is love to you?
well love to me i feel is a feeling, you are happy just being with the person,
accept the person flaws and nv see weakness

Danny
1) What is love to you?
when u luv someone, u want to give tat person everything tat is possible, anything tat makes the other party Smile, its worth the effort n sacrifice, its about commitment , its about wanting to See each other so much tat, just 1 sec of not meeting Seems so long

2) What do you love your partner for?
i luv her for who and wat she is , i luv her because i know tat she is the one for me n where my happiness lies. i luv her for being so spoilt n for being wu li qiu niao. when u luv someone, the things u do just don't make sense, but u still enjoy doing it

As for me:
1) What is love to me?
Love to me is a magical feeling. Its a chemistry and a connection. It cant be explain why and how, but i just know.

2) What do you love my partner for?
Hmmm..i cant really pinpoint what i love him for..seems like i dun love him for anything and yet seems like i love him for everything...he might not be the best guy ard, the most good looking, the richest or the most gentlemen guy, but 1 thing for sure that i know, is that he would do his best for me, to provide what i want and to give me the very best within his ability. :)

So if you are still gg to ask me what i love him for..i would still tell you, i dunno :P

Haa..funny reactions i get when i asked my frens these qns. Relax guys, nothing happened btw me and Law and thanks for the concern!!

Wedding banquets

Hai..thats so true ....
The Electric New Paper :
S'PORE WEDDING COUPLES HIT BY BANQUET BLUES

Couples feeling the pinch as prices of hotel packages soar but hongbao gifts remain the same WHEN you attend a wedding dinner next year, think twice before you seal that hongbao.
By Tay Shi'an 31 December 2007.

WHEN you attend a wedding dinner next year, think twice before you seal that hongbao. The money you put in may not be enough for the bride and groom to recover the cost of their wedding celebrations, let alone have a little extra for their honeymoon. Yes, young couples planning their dream weddings are finding themselves priced out of their dreams. For example, the going rate for a year-end Saturday wedding dinner next year at the Mandarin Oriental is $1,088 per table.Add to that the 10 per cent service charge and 7 per cent goods and services tax, and it's a whopping $1,280 for a table of 10 guests. So your $100 hongbao, while considered generous this year, may fall a little short next year. Many young couples, who have already felt the pinch of sky-high property prices, are now facing a squeeze on another front - ever-rising wedding banquet prices.

Checks by The New Paper on Sunday found that the 2008 weekend prices for most of the five-star hotels exceed $1,000 per table, with prices at dream venues such as Shangri-La,The Fullerton Hotel and Ritz-Carlton starting from over $1,200.DREAMS COMPROMISED The daunting combination has pushed some couples into abandoning dream homes in developed estates to take up available units in new towns like Sengkang. Now, they must also make compromises - or even set aside - their plans for a dream wedding.

Ms Jaslyn Chew, 27, wanted to have her wedding banquet at the Marina Mandarin. But theprice of a weekend wedding at the hotel - $988 nett per table for Saturdays, and $958 nett per table on Fridays and Sundays - was too steep. So the couple will hold their wedding dinner on a weekday in October instead. The cost? $788 per table. Said the civil servant: 'We decided to take a weekday because the weekend price is out of our league rather than (have it at) a hotel we don't like.'

Similarly, MsLynnette Chia, 28, had planned to have her March banquet at a top hotel. Now, she and her husband will hold their wedding banquet at the Pioneer Springs restaurant at Mount Faber Safra. As they had booked early, they will pay only $599 nett per table for a Saturday wedding. Said MsChia: 'My dream was one of the bigger hotels like the Marriott or the Hyatt, but after I saw the prices, I thought, forget about hotel.'The couple, who have a combined monthly income of more than $5,000, are also paying for their executive condominium at La Casa in Woodlands, which they bought for $380,000 two years ago. Said Ms Chia: 'I keep telling myself, don't end up in debt. If a one-day wedding makes me suffer three to four years of loans, forget it.
'
Still searching for their dream home and wedding are Mr Christopher Chew, 29, and his fiance Ms Michelle Law, 26. The couple, who have been dating for six years, are holding off their customary dinner as they are unable to get a HDB flat. Said Mr Chew: 'We've been trying to get a flat since early this year in all the HDB balloting. But the results are so disappointing.' He added that prices on the resale market are 'a bit crazy' now, so they are not considering buying a resale flat. In the meantime, the couple are planning a special venue to register their marriage in March next year: Onboard the Singapore Flyer. Said Ms Law: 'We aren't planning to hold the customary so soon because we can't get a flat. So we wanted to make the ROM memorable.' They are hoping to hold their dinner around December next year, or even in early 2009.But, as they wait, prices are sky-rocketing.

The New Paper on Sunday checked with 11 hotels about their wedding package price changes from this year to next. Hotels like Marina Mandarin, Holiday Inn Park View, Furama Riverfront and Ritz-Carlton Millenia have raised their prices by about 5per cent or less. Chijmes, Shangri-La and Furama City Centre raised their prices between 5 and 10 per cent.At hotels like Pan Pacific, Swissotel The Stamford and Marriott, banquet packages have increased on average by more than 10 per cent.Only InterContinental Singapore is not changing its wedding package prices next year. But that's because it had raised prices by about 15 per cent in April after relaunching its new ballroom. The reasons the hotels gave for the increase are the higher cost of food, labour, rental and oil. The GST hike and exchange rate fluctuations were also taken into consideration. And many of the hotels would likely be raising prices again in 2009.Ms Lydia Lim, director of marketing communications of Holiday Inn Park View Singapore, said the hotel has seen couples who do away with extras to save money.'For example, we have couples who might not wish to have free-flow of beer during the banquet and ask for a discount,' she said. Still, there are couples willing to splurge - in particular, those who go for luxury hotels. Ms Melanie Teo, senior events manager for weddings at the Shangri-La, said the hotel's two ballrooms are already fully booked for wedding banquets between September and December next year.Bookings for next year started as early as 18 months ago.

Ms Evelyn Yo, director of public relations at the Ritz-Carlton, said weddings at the hotel have been getting more lavish. But are guests' hongbaos keeping up?Hotels say that most guests are aware that prices have gone up.But Ms C Yang, marketing manager of Starworth, which runs events at Chijmes, said some couples have told her that the value of red packets have not risen to match the increase in banquet prices.Added Ms Julie Lock, assistant marketing communications manager at Furama City Centre: 'Many are not aware of the rising 'market rate' for red packets.'Ms Teo of Shangri-La Hotel said she knew of a couple whose relative gave a $100 hongbao, but took four family members to the wedding.'There was another couple who received an $8 red packet for the banquet they held at the hotel,' she said. 'My advice would be to call the hotel where the banquet will be held and enquire. This will give you a better gauge of how much to give.'

Site Visit

Done a site visit at my client's plant yesterday. Its at Jurong Island and its my first time there. Hee…it was like a secondary school excursion and I was quite excited about it. However, the taxi uncle wasn’t too happy when we told him we are going to Jurong Island. He was complaining all the way there, saying how out of the way that place is. And when we reached there, he asked in a very rude tone:

Taxi uncle, “Where is the company?”

Me, “Not sure, this is my first time here.”

Taxi uncle, “You dunno how to go and I also dunno how to go then how!”

I was like, WTF!! He being the taxi driver who doesn’t know how to go to the place and still dare to shout ard. I can understand that he is not familiar with the place cos its at Jurong Island, but then shouldn’t he be more humble and ask around instead of blaming me for not knowing how to go there!! Duhz…super bad attitude. In the end, it was me who went to ask the guard at the custom on the direction there. That stupid uncle just cant be bothered!!

Anyway, after that drama, we still managed to reach the plant on time. The main purpose of doing the site visit is to ascertain that the plant is physically there and also to better understand their chemical manufacturing process and maintenance work done. The plant is smaller than I expect and we must wear protective glasses and those white helmets when within the premise of the plant. Looks so pro right .. haha. The maintenance coordinator (aka our tour guide) brought us around and started explaining the whole chemical process to us. Hmm..i am accounts/finance trained…not a chemist loh. Half the time I dunno what he is talking about ..lol. The “tour” ended in a chop chop 45 mins and by that time, we were already sweating profusely. Quite a good trip which enriched my knowledge on chemicals processes and the things involved in such manufacturing company.
5344 and counting....i am simply amazed!!

Anyway, my aunt has started her very own blog after i told her i have one. Seems that she has been contemplating of setting up one for some time alr. Hee..hopefully there would be regular updates from her (unlike half the ppl on my list, who doesnt update their blogs... hai...)

Birthday celebration

Had a mini birthday celebration for auntie Janet and cousin Winnie last Wednesday at Hanabi @ Odeon Towers. Both are April babies :) Place is recommended by Candice. Food there are not bad, quality quite good and they have got jellie fish where most Jap buffet rest dun have. However their hand roll sucks big time, with soaky seaweed thats hard to chew off and they dun serve desserts for buffet menu :( Haa..thats a big minus point for me cos i just love desserts..for buffet not having dessert just seems not complete.

Some food that we had:

We had lots more food, but didnt take all the pics. As we tot that the rest would have served desserts ie will have cake, we didnt buy 1 at first. In the end, we went to Carlton hotel to get a Mango cake.

3,115 and still counting...hai...

New blog skin

My original blogskin went crazy and all alignments were out when i tried to update my background song. So in the end, i just changed the whole skin..haa..sometimes changes can be go too. :)

Cycling at ECP

Met up with Xuehui, Jiahui, Qingyou and Ah Heng (Qingyou's fren) for cycling at ECP this moring. Well, targetted time to reach ECP is at 10am, but as ususal, we only turned up at 11+am. Haa..am used to this rubber timing arrangement alr. Anyway, we had a fun 1 hr+ of cycling. Its much better than the last time we were there (at last yr's Deepavali) which was way too much ppl for a smooth cycle. After sweating out the fats, we qucikly gained them back by having lunch at a BBQ Korean rest at ECP. Cant remember its name, but seems to be quite famous as quite a number of actors have dined there b4.

We ordered the main course, which is the type of BBQ meat that we want, and it comes with free flow of side dishes.

Our dishes

BBQ the beef. This rest is very service oriented. The waitress would help us to BBQ the meat (haa..to make sure we dun over cook them)

Each of us would have our own personal side dishes : onions, and a bowl of seaweed soup.

And there is the ginseng chicken soup which we can ask for refill of the soup!

You need to wrap your BBQ meat in the vege and add whatever other side dishes item to it, put some sauce and wrapped it up.

And its ready to be eaten. Yummy!!

After lunch, we headed down to Queensway shopping centre, where Qingyou got his new pair of blades and i manage to change the nose pieces of my specs.

In the evening, went to tomb sweeping at Lim Chu Kang and luckily there wasnt any jam. Per Law, he went last week and it was already jammed up early in the morning. Reason being? Searching for Mas Selamat..Faint...
