Day 2 - Danshui, Yu ren man tou and Beitou

On the second day, we headed off to Danshui which is at the north of Taipei. From there we took a boat to Yu Ren Man Tou, which is famous for its Lover's bridge. Nothing much there actually, but was said that taiwan idol serials like to go to that bridge for filming. At the harbour at Danshui

The mountain behind was known as Guanyin shan. Becos from certain angle, it looks like a sleeping Guanyin.

Danshui is famous for their danshui yu yuan..but that i dun find it nice. Its quite hard actually. Not as Q and as soft as those from Singapore.

Another famouse food item is the Ah Po Tien Dan. Its some kind of perserve egg. didnt try one thou.

We didnt get to try the famous Hao Da Da Ji Pa at Shilin and we saw a branch at Yu Ren Man Tou! It didnt taste as good as we expected. Its very salty actually

Erm...it only lasted me less than 3 mins...cos after a few licks, the whole ice cream jsut topple over.... duhz...after that, we made our way to the tallest ferris wheel in taiwan!

Its really very high, but the ride was fast. We were so busy taking photos, that we didnt really enjoy the scenery...lol

At night, we went to the night market near Xiyue's house for dinner. We tried their oyster mee suan and its very nice!!!

Afetr dinner, we headed down to beitou for their hot spring. Its kinda disappointing as their so call hot spring is like a hotel room with jacuzzi except that the waters are hot spring water

We reached Taipei around 540pm and we went to Bernard's fren; Xiyue's house. After that we went straight to Shilin night market for dinner and shopping!!

Chou toufu - Its my first time trying one!!! This one doesnt smell that bad..but then 1 pc is enough :P

Some other miscellanous food. From the photo, u can see the sauage. Its called Da Chang bao xiao Chang (ie big intestine wrapping small intestine). Its actually sauage wrapped in glutinous rice. Its quite a common food in taiwan and tasted not bad.

Home Sweet Home

Am finally back!!! Feeling damn tired now and sun burnt (as a result of the water rafting). Started peeling..hopefully would be all right by Sunday. Woudl update my blog about my taiwan trip as soon as i sort out the photos. Stayed tune!!

Hello! Greetings from Taipei! Am staying at a fren's house thus using his laptop to update my blog.

Reached Taipei ard 540pm, but only managed to get out of airport one hr later..duhz...slow...Went to Shilin night market tonight. Didnt get to eat much as not really that hungry. Missed out the Hao Da Da Ji Pa...but got to try Chou tou fu (smelly toufuo) and the fried oyster. The fried oyster is very different from Singapore. Ahem...would prefer the Singapore version. Didnt buy much too..only managed to get some ear rings, a mirror and a pair of slipper. Would upload the photos when i get back to Singapore. Would try to update again tomolo night.

PS: Sis, already bought your Mac blusher for you. Only $30!!!

PS: Ah Dear, tried the cup noodles that you recommend! Really very nice! Would try to buy back boxes for you (that is if i can carry :P)

Finally a Sunday off!

It has been a long waited one. Judging that now i get to meet law only on his off day, its a much appreaciated and awaited weekend off. This means we would have a whole day together!! But because he only has 1 day off per week nowadays, it also means that all his errands has to be done on this day too.

Thus today, its a tyres changing day. The car's tyres are almost bald..and very dangerous when its raining..can feel the car sliding across puddles of water. We went to Pasir Ris to collect the tyres then back to Sentosa workshop to change them.

In the evening, we went to Army market to get some zip-lock bag for my taiwan trip (so that i can squeeze as many clothes in the bag as i can and make room for other new purchases :P) and some other army stuffs for Law (he is gg back for reservist from tomolo onwards). Had famous fried bananas and glutinous rice balls for dinner...hee...

After that we went to Bugis Junction to watch moive : Raraku, 19th level of hell. Its is crapy show! Dun go and watch! Waste of money!! As mentioned, Law would be gg back for reservist tomolo. So the chances of him fetching his...ahem...smelly camp-mates would be pretty high. Thus in order not to let my "Gou-gou" doggie gets dirty, i brought him up from the car..

Satay Beehoon

Met up with Quentin for dinner last night. As he just got his new car and wanna go to AutoBack to get some car accessories (near my place). We went to Bukit Timah Market ("BTM") to have satay beehoon. The store was just featured in the TV that week.

Seems that BTM is a popular eating area, even at night. We have difficulty finding parking space, as well as empty seats. After going through the trouble of parking at another HDB area and walking to the market and finally gotten a seat, another queuing has to be made...yes, the queue for the food. Actually its still quite all right, as no doubt the queue looks long, its actually moving quite fast. So in 10 mins or so, we finally got our food.

Hmmm..this is my first time eating satay beehoon....dun find it very nice...the beehoon is stiff and there is only 1 prawn inside!! The ingredients are very sparely given....even Quentin who has tried other satay beehoon also said that its nothing special..duhz..TV shows...cant trust them can we?

Boyfriend 5.0 is an entertainment package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system. Try entering the command C:\ I THOUGHT YOU LOVED ME and download Tears 6.2 to install Guilt 3.0. If all works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewellery 2.0 and Flowers 3.5. But remember, overuse can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Late Night Teh Tarik 6.1. Late Night 6.1 is a very bad program that will create SnoringLoudly.wav files. Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-Law 1.0 or reinstall another Boyfriend program. These are not supported applications and will crash Husband 1.0. In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have a limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly.

You might consider additional software to improve memory and performance. I personally recommend Hot Tasty Food 3.0 and Tongkat Ali 6.9.

UPGRADE FROM BOYFRIEND TO HUSBAND - Part 1

Dear IT Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a slow down in the overall performance, particularly in the flower, gifts and jewellery applications that had operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 un-installed many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, but installed undesirable programs such as Formula One 5.0, NBA 3.0 and World Cup 2.0.

And now Conversation 8.0 no longer runs and House Cleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail. What can I do?

Morning - Body Massage

My day started off pretty well with the very nice and soothing massage. My massage lady for today is Rain. She is quite good, but a bit talkative.

After the massage, Body Wellness gave me some face mask to try. If its good, might consider getting them as currently i am also looking for good face mask.

However, after the massage, things start to go wrong!! It was pouring when i came out of Body Wellness which is at Winston House. My next destination is to Taka. As i dun have an umbrella so in the end, i took a bus (1 bus stop) to Somerset MRT and then took a train (1 MRT stop) to Orchard MRT station just to get to Taka thru Wisma. The whole trip took me almost 40 mins where i could have done it in 10 mins if its not raining! Purpose of gg to Taka is to look for a white dress. If u have seen my earlier blog post, u wld have know that my ebay bidding didnt get thru. Saw one potential dress, but it cost $80!! For a day dress for the wedding, i think $80 is too steep alr..thus in the end didnt buy it. Would use it as a last resort. So after all the hassel, i didnt manage to get anything..

Next stop is to HSA to donate blood. Its still raining and there is not direct bus "into" HSA, so at some pt in time, i would still kenna rain. When i reached there partially drenched, i realised..........HSA is CLOSED ON MONDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! #$$%^%&^%&@#!~#@$ No choice but to go home without doing anything.....duhz....

Badminton Sessions

Bro Y had always "jio" me and Xuehui to join them for badminton sessions, but Xuehui and I had never joined them..its only until after Bro Y left us, then Xuehui had been constantly joining them for the games. Maybe its a way to "remember" him and its also a good form of exercise. As for me... :P i am still as lazy as ever and their badminton sessions are always at Henderson, if not some "far away" place and on Sunday evenings (monday still need to work!!) So i rarely joined them for any games.

However for this week , badminton is at Clementi!!! And tomolo i am on leave! Haa..so i joined them. Bernard came to pick me and Xuehui.

The clementi stadium is much bigger than the other few CCs that we have been to and its more ventilated (thus not that hot!). They also have lots of courts including an area for table tennis too. Thats Xuehui (in blue) and Dar Dar (in white and pink) and Bernard at the other end reaching for the "sky" hahah...in the photo.

After the games, we went to a place near sunset way for dinner (cant remember its name). Food are not bad. There are 12 of us and we managed to squeeze into 1 table. Its only up to yesterday that i realised so many of them smoke! After dinner, they went for smoking session and guess wat.....the whole table only left me and Xuehui.. -_-"

KPMG Annual Senior Conference Day 31/08/07

This year, our senior's conference was held at Sentosa, Amara Resort Hotel. Its a new resort that was yet to open to public. This yr's conference was so much better than last yr's. Last yr consisted mainly of talks and discussions. This yr however the main theme is team building.

The morning was delicated to our "Man of the Co" whereby he went thru the Co's performance in the past 1 yr and what we were expecting in the near future. In the afternoon, (thats when the fun starts) we went on a synery race. Its something like Amazing race, whereby we have to go thru stations and in each stations, there are task we have to perform b4 we were given clues as to where the next station would be. Its a very tiring day, but it was fun running around Sentosa. Luckily Law is working there...thus i can ask him abt sentosa! lol....Also thanks to the diver's gathering i had last sat, whereby i have learnt the ans to a "question" which was asked at one of the station...ok, what do u call a handicapped prawn?

Dinner was at Samudar Resturant at Palawan beach. The food there sucks big t.ime!! My colleagues left ard 8pm+, but i stayed on to wait for law to off work..which was at 11pm.. abt 3 hrs wait...sian..luckily anticipating the situation, i brought my PSP with me.

Stupid ebay!!!!!!!!

Am trying to bid for a dress on ebay recently. Its my first time trying and the deadline for the bid is today at 11.30am. I was the only one bidding up to yesterday and when i checked my account this moring, there is 1 other person bidding against me. Thus trying to win the bid , i log onto ebay and wanna rise my bid. In the end ebay showed me a msg saying that i have exceed my limited and i cannot bid anymore!!! I am only bidding for 1 item!!! And am only trying to rise the bid for this item!!! So why cant i bid and why is there an exceeding of items bidded!!! Its so stupid!

This is the dress i am trying to bid. Its suppose to be for my colleague's wedding whereby i am one of the sister...the theme is white..so now i got to re-look for my dress....*angry*!! Anyone got any idea/recommendation for nice white dress??
