Oktoberfest

Went to the Oktober feast on tue. Supposely its the first day of a 5 day celebration and would have a opening street parade. But as everyone is late *angry*, i totally missed the whole thing!!

Oktoberfest is actually a German festival whereby it was first held in the year 1810 in honor of the Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig’s marriage to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. The festivities began on October 12, 1810 and ended on October 17th with a horse race. Its the biggest and grandest event in Germany and had been held yrly even since.

Comparing the celebration that Singapore had, its obviously too "mild". Its just a dinner in a tentage which German singing away...Traditional food that they served are:

Suasages

And Pork Knuckles

And of cos Erdinger

Haa..Quentin is so happy with his food

Cheers!!!

Cheers!!

Quentin and me

Justine looks so red and drunk!

Swimming again

Its swimming again. But this time round is baby Trishelle's turn. Only at 4 mths old and not crying at all! I am so proud of her!!

Testing water first...

Yeek! Why so cold!!!

"I believe i can fly......"

"I believe i can touch the water..."

Sunday Laze

Today is a rest and relax sunday with baking in the morning and baby Estella visiting in the afternoon.

Tried a new receipe, "Cruchy Drops" except that i changed it a bit. Instead of using raisins and glazed cherries as stated in the receipe, i changed it to chocolate chips.

After mixing the butter, sugar, eggs, milk, flour and chocolate chips, dropped teaspoon of the mixture into corn flakes

Ready to be baked

The end results

The modified "Cruchy Drops"

Winnie and baby Estella came visiting in the afternoon. It has been a few months since i last saw her. At 7 months now, she is so sweet and adorable. Smiley, friendly and not afraid of stranger. She greeted me with a huge winning smile when i opened the door and when i said,"Bao Bao", she would smile and stretch out the hands happily! :D

She is learning to sit..but still abit wobby thou.

Hmmm.. whats that?? Lizard on the wall??

Mum and daughter

We then brought baby Estella down for swimming. Its her very first experience with the pool. At first she is very wary of that big pool of blue water, clentching her fists tightly and dare not move about. But after 15 mins or so, she began hit the water and enjoying getting splashed by it.

"Testing water"
Hmm... can i drink it?

Enjoying i totally!!

Dancing Queen

Every women is beautiful

A little boy asked his mother "Why are you crying?"
"Because I'm a woman," she told him.

"I don't understand," he said.
His mum just hugged him and said, "And you never will"
Later the little boy asked his father,
"Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?"
"All women cry for no reason," was all his dad could say.
The little boy grew up and became a man,
still wondering why women cry.
 Finally he put in a call to God;
and when God got on the phone,
he asked, "God, why do women cry so! easily?"
God said: "When I made the woman she had to be special.
I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world;
yet, gentle enough to give comfort"
"I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth
and the rejection that many times comes from her children"
"I gave her a hardness that allows
her to keep going when everyone else gives up,
and take care of her family through sickness
and fatigue without complaining "
"I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any
and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very badly"
"I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults
and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart"
"I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife,
but sometimes tests her strengths
and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly"
"And finally, I gave her a tear to shed.
This is hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed."
You see: The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears,
the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair."!
"The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes,
because that is the doorway to her heart
* the place where love resides."

Public speaking

Going to conduct a course later. A mini one thou. But the thot of it really scares me. I just hate public speaking! Please hope that I wont stumble or tremble too much and have ans to all qns asked. Wished me luck!

Hypocrite!!!

Why is it that you can say all those things in front of us and behind her back that how much u hate her and how she had made your life so miserable but when the 3 of us are together, you can chat with her like you guys are the best of friends? Is this back stabbing? Hypocrite? Office politics? You are so fake and you totally disgust me!!!

Ai Xin Stout

Sometimes back, me and ah dear went to have our fortunes read. Its quite accuary i would say. He even knows that i have leg cramps problem by just looking at me. There are other things which he mentioned and predicted that was pretty accuary too. The reason, he said for me having leg cramps is due to menses. Hmm..i have never heard that menses can lead to leg cramps..stomach cramps maybe but leg?? And the funniest thing is that he recommended Stout as a "medicine".

So just a few days ago, on my first day of menses, i received my Ai Xin Stout from Ah Dear at nearly 12 midnight!! He just got off work and pop over with the beer.
It taste sweet and bitter at the same time. Sweet cos he bothers to bring it over, bitter cos i have never taste something so horrible and bitter in my life..errmm maybe when i am taking those chinese medicine.

Gift from Japan

Got a cute little gift from Juliana. Its a name card holder. Just in time, my current one is wearing out alr :)

New Vending Machine

It came on Monday. The snacks are actually cheaper than outside. Good welfare? Hee..think i prefer the free biscuits in the pantry. Most items in the vending machine are chocolate bars and Lays potatote chips...so heaty.

Portfolio

Received my revised portfolio today. Seems that for the coming year, my peak period would only start aroung Mar and should last all the way till Aug. No doubt i would still have jobs from nov to feb, but should still be managable. Just cross my fingers that i wont be getting more jobs.

Family gathering

Today is our ever first family gathering with baby Trishelle. Sis invited us to Crystal Jade at Jurong Point for Tim Sum lunch. Haa..my sis has the same blog post. Pls visit her blog for the pics.

After lunch, we went to visit baby Estella. She is 3 months older than Trishelle and much bigger in size too. Too bad she was sleeping when we reached. Saw that white teddy? Haa..its me who put it there :P.

Off Day again

Am on leave today again. Its to replace the one day which i went back to work in Sep. Meet up with Law in the morning and accompany him back to sentosa to settle some work after which we went to Vivo to shop for his jacket for tonight (Huiping's wedding; Law's primary school fren). Pass Jiahui her bday present during her lunch time and she slim down yet again. Must take care gal!

There was a sale at LP Zone and Law managed to get a jacket, short sleeve shirt and jean costing altogether only $48!! Haha..never felt so excited shopping for his things. As his jean need altering, we walked over to Habour Front to eat Mee Suan (to stop my craving).

The shop name is called Shilin Xiao Ci, selling snacks from Taipei-Shilin. When i was at Shilin, i have never tried their mee suan. This one that i tried at Habour Front is a bit diff from the one that i haf at Taipei, which didnt have sheddred chicken meat. The one at HF tasted a bit salty, but overall still quite nice.

After collecting Law's jean, we went home, getting ready for the dinner at night. Its at Furama River Front. While waiting for Law to come pick me up, mum brought home donuts from Donut Factory! Its from her colleague actually. I had always wanna try their donuts, but each time looking at the queue, i gave up.

Actually i dun find them particularly nice. Taste like normal donuts to me. To ask me queue that long for them, its not worth it....

Anyway, we were almost late for Huiping's wedding. Reached there 8.10pm. Luckily they have not started yet. Huiping looks gorgeous! Liked her hairdo too. Congras gal! And enjoyed your honeymood!!

Sounds like English??

Hahaha...i cant stop laughing!!

sIcK

3rd day back to work and i am already on MC...seems that this peak is not going to be an easy one.

1st day back at work

SUPER DUPER BLUEZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!

Lucky i am on course for half a day and for the whole of tomorrow. My brain seems to stall this morning when i log onto my email and saw 25 unread mails. I just cleared my emails last Thursday. So within 1 day (fri), i recieved 25 emails...duhz....work...Was still worried that i would be rather free in Oct since most of my jobs would only start in Nov. But after reading the mails, i believed that Oct would be a busy month too!

Bad new for the day: Simmons would no longer be under my care this year. It has been transfered to another unit. I quite like this audit client. Easy job, nice FM, accounts clear, go home on time...hai....so sad...

Anyway, looking forward to this weekend. Would be on leave on Fri as its Huiping's wedding and there is yet another divers' gathering on sat and Law is coming along this time too!! Yippee!!

Haw Par Villa

Can you guess where Law and i went Pa Tuo yesterday???? Haa....we went Haw Par Villa! Ahem...an interesting choice right? As he wanna go look at the 10 court level of hell (normally is the 18 level of hell, dun ask me why is there only 10 levels at Haw Par Villa), so there we went.

It was damn hot! The last time (and only time) i went Haw Par Villa was way back in 1991, with auntie Janet and her bf (now hubby). It has been 16 yrs! OMG!! Hmm..dun really much abt Haw Par Villa then, except that they have a log ride previously and we need to pay abt $15 to get in. But now, entrances fee is free, but if we wanna go into the Hua Song museum which shows us the life of the early chinese immigrants, we need to pay $8.40 each.

At the entrance

At Hua Song Museum

Hee, i quite like this pic

Haa..pretending to be a scholar..

Yucks!!!

At night, went to celebrate Xuehui, Amanda, Winnie and Eric; sep babies' birthday at a steamboat resturant at Bugis. Maybe was tired out after Haw Par Villa trip, thus didnt eat much at the steamboat.

Cool pic huh :) Done by our artistic Faith!!

Once again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY GALS!!!

Confidant?

Was on msn with a fren just now:

He: Hows your mood today

Me: Not good

He: Yeah, i guess so as well...

For a moment i am stunned. How did he know?

Me: How you know?

He: Cos you are starting work tomolo mah

Haaa.... i thought he is able to read minds!! Even thru msn. Sigh..wont it be nice if u have a fren who u can really confide in without being afraid of sounding stupid or ridiculous? Just a person to listen to you and give advise?

Snowflakes

"no. i remember thinking, one winter day, that we were like snowflakes on the sea, you and i. our love was so beautiful, so special, but, like the snowflakes, when it touched something bigger, it dissolved."he smiled, somewhat sadly, at the imagery in her statement. "snowflakes on the sea," he repeated thoughtfully, his eyes locked now with hers. "did it ever occur to you that that snow didn't really cease to exist at all? it became a permanent part of that 'something bigger' - a part of something eternal and elemental and very, very beautiful." - an excerpt from 'Snowflakes on the Sea' by Linda Lael Miller

Miss, crave, cant wait....

I miss the mee suan at Taiwan so much!!!!!!! And also Xiyue's mom's beef noodles!!!! AAarrrggghhhh!!!!!!!

Cute little gal

23 Sep - Juliana's wedding

Just attended Jul's wedding at Conrad on Sun. I was one of the Jiemei. As Jul is my colleague, all the other 6 jiemeis are also my colleagues. The picking up of the bride is at the hotel and thus we need to be there at 7am!!

As Jul is half malay and half chinese, the tea ceremony for her mom only takes place at night in the hotel. Thus our day schedules is relatively more relax. After the gate crashing, in which we each manage to get $50+, we proceed to the groom's house for tea ceremony. Its then followed by gg to their new home and then to out door photoshoot before gg back to the hotel.

This is Jul's bedroom room. Looks like a hotel room right! Like the red and black theme. So classy and cosy

The 7 jiemeis

The dinner at Conrad is also very nice. They have a black, white and gold theme, with their table cloth black, with a gold ribbon across and white chairs. Dinner is served with individual portion and the food taste great too. Wat impress us the most is that after the dinner when we went back up to the room, the realised that the hotel staff have actually went into the room and helped them prepared a rose petal bath! So sweet!

Would upload more photos once i get them from Jul.

22 Sep - Ah dear's birthday celebration

Ah dear's birthday is actually on the 19th of sep, but today, his primary school fren did a mini celebration for him. Since his meeting with his frens is at night, we spend the afternoon shopping for mooncakes.

He came to pick me up when he is on his way back home from camp. As its a sat, we went to try our luck on the "flip card session" This is actually a Suan(4) Ming(4) session whereby youa re suppose to cut the cards and the Shifu would lay out the cards and use them to help u see your fortune. This is my 3rd time there. The 1st time i got a black card thus cannot proceed to suan ming. Need to get a red card for the first card that i picked. The second time i went there, they are not open.
The shifu said my fortune for next year would be better than this year (yippee!!!!) But he also said that i am very confuse with my future and have no confidence....he said i am those who plan as i go and dun have a future goal...hmm..i quite disagree on that...cos i actually have my goals...anyway, i feel that u cannot believe 100% on suan ming. Just trust yourself and go along!
Next we went to Taka for lunch and mooncake shopping.

Teriyaki chicken don set and curry rice set. Yummy!!!

After lunch, went to the mooncake fair at taka. There are alot of ppl and even met Danny and his gf there. Afetr a round of looking and trying mooncakes, i bought a box of crispy yam mooncake for home and law bought a box of Da Zhong Guo mooncakes for his grandma's side.

Went to his grandma's house at Toa Payoh and after that met up with his frens at the coffee shop below. Actually its very nice to keep in touch with your primary school frens and i am glad that they are still in so close terms. I barely had any primary school frens that i am still in touch with. His fren Huiping got him a suprise bday cake.

Haa..actually Huiping alr sms me earlier on when we were in the mrt, saying that she would be getting the cake. But know Law would sure say dun wan, i didnt inform him :P

Ah dear with me and his mango mosse cake

After dinner, they went on for KTV. As i am gg to be the Jiemei of my colleague the next day, i didnt join them and Bernard sent me home.

Taiwan trip Day 7 - last day

Wake up feeling fresh today (as i had almost 7 hrs of sleep) and realised that Xuehui and Bernard just came back!! And Xuehui still wanna go Xi Meng Ting with me!!! She is one power gal..no need to sleep when it comes to shopping!!! Bernard on the other hand couldnt take it anymore and he went to sleep.

Reached Xi Meng Ting ard 10am. Most of the shops are not open yet. Thus we went to look for the famous Ah Zhong Mian Xian.
The shop: just opening. Had a hard time looking for this store!

Looked delicious!!

And tasted delicious!

Had the most fulfilling shopping (since in taiwan) at Xi Meng Ting today. Bought another 2 bra sets, 1 necklace each for my sis and bil, 1 t-shirt for law, 1 little twin star calendar for sis, a my melody pouch for myself and a Fila sling bag!!!

However, good times dun last, soon its time to head back to Xiyue's home to pack up. His mom was so nice, even cook us lunch before she went for work.
Quite a feast right! Also, Xiyue's mom cooked the best beef noodles i ever ate in Taiwan!

We bought lots of Tai Yang Bing (sun cake), Feng Li Su and other snacks. We almost kenna additional charges for the excess baggages..luckily they are nice enough to let us thru :P

Look at the number of boxes!!
