CNY first day

Just after 2 hrs sleep, i am up and running...Its a tradition for my family to have fried carrot cake for breakfast on the first day of CNY. Its made by my granny and its the best in the world!!

The first place that we went is to my dad's side relative. For those who doesnt know, i have a few grandma. My real granny (my dad's mom) is the 4th wife of my grandpa. So the first stop is to my elderest grandma's house whereby all my aunties and uncles would gather there for the morning.

This year, the hot topic of the day is of cos no longer asking the kids (or my generation) about work, studies, who got bf/gf or when are you getting married. The center of attraction is of cos Trishelle!! Haha think she really saved us on answering all those qns!

This yr there is a team of Lion Dancing Troupe that went house to house. Not sure whats the meaning of it. But i am sure its for some good blessing..

And we only allowed them to stay by the doorway.

See that flash in the mirror, thats from my cam ..haha. We together with Trishelle are standing at the furthest corner of the living room afraid that it would scare Trishelle. But it proof wrong. When the troupe started playing the drums and others, its way too loud and yes, Trishelle was frightened! Can see from her expression. Its quite funny actually haha :P but not in time to capture her expression. My dad quickly covered her ears and brought her into the room.

After that we went over to my mom's side. We had the ever hot selling Shark Fin soup made by my aunt. Hee..my sis didnt get to eat it last yr cos she was pregnant and she had her revenge this yr! She had 2 big bowls of it!

Lunch is steamboat. Last yr think i didnt cook the food properly and ended up having LS for the next few days..this yr, i am gg slow on my cooking man...There are so many of us that we need to eat by batches.

These are my 3 favourite red packs that i have received this yr. The first one is a Little Twin Star one with a small bell on top. Next is a red pack with 8 golden mouse all over its and the last one is a gold pack with the chinese character of rat on it.

Reunion dinner

We had our reunion dinner at Rail Mall @ Lets Crab it rest this year. Sis and family joined us too. Dinner like the past is either at 6pm or at 8pm. Thus we went for the 6pm timing. This year we had a new addition to the family. Thats baby Trishelle! Hee..last yr she is still in the womb of my sis :P

Met up with Law at abt 11pm+. Our original plan was to go to Chinatown for countdown and also to see Bian(1) Pow(4). But in the end you wont believe where we went and wat we did. Its not something which you would expect me to do....in the end, we went back to his place to welcome the God of Fortune. Its at the temple beside his house.

While waiting in queue to be bless by the god. They are conducting some ceremony inside.

We are holding the joss sticks and lotus lamp. The joss sticks are covered in gold shimmers. Very pretty. Its not the normal kind which we use to pray in temple. The lotus lamp is said to guide the god of fortune back to your house and you are suppose to lit it until it has finished buring.

During the ceremony, there is a part whereby the priest would bless the gold coins and throw it to us. If you manage to grab it, its said to bring good luck and wealth. Law managed to grab 3 and i managed to grab 2!! :D So expecting good wealth in the coming yr! Huat ah!! Hehe

After the whole ceremony, we went to Chinatown to meet Bernard and gf for some last min shopping while waiting for Guoguang for yet another temple visitation. While at Chinatown, we came across a shop that sells abacus. Remembering what my aunt said, its good to buy a calculator on the 1st day of the new year and keep it inside ur wallet so that you would have money to count for the rest of the year, i bought one keychain abacus. :P

This time we went to Loyang Da Bo Gong template. By the time everything is done and i have reached my cozy bed, its alr 630 in the morning! Only another 2 hrs sleep and i am suppose to be up and awake to go for my new year visitings...damn tired..but its all worth it! The purpose to stay up all night is to Shou(3) Sui(4). Its say to bless your parent for longevity.

Went for Mcdonald breakfast with Law in the morning. Cant remember when was the last time i had hotcakes for breakfast. It sure was a satisfying meal!

After that we proceed to get our hps!! I got a Sony Ericsson W910i (red) and ah dear got a Nokia 6500s (black).

My new toy. I sure need some time to get used to the msging!

Attended Christina's wedding on Sunday. Its a simple and sweet solemnization held at Amara Hotel. Its my first time meeting Christina but it doesnt feels that way cos i have been reading her blog on and off and sometimes Law talks about her too. Of cos and her friendliness puts everyone at ease. Oh ya and i know that she calls me DINO too..haha for reason which i dun think its nice to broadcast here haha!

The solemnization was held at the pool side and they scattered rose petals around it. The dinner was in buffet style and the food was nice! Even got raw salmon, my favourite! Was too greedy eating the food and forgot to take pics of the food :P

1 Day of the year

Managed to celebrate the 1st day of the year with Ah Dear. He got us 2 free tickets for the countdown at Siloso beach. As he is Sentosa staff, we managed to get into the VIP area where there are cushions to sit and free flow of beers! :P Its my first coutdown with him actually, cos every year this timing, he would be damn busy with work.

As Law is working on the 1st, we went home ard 2+am. After catching a couple of hrs of sleep, i am up and going out again..hehe. But its a rest n relax afternoon at TCC with uncle Sing. Really liked the TCC at Boat Quay. They have cushions and beanbags instead of normal chairs on the 2nd level. So its an afternoon of lazing ard, lying on the bean bags, chatting and coffee..

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! So fast and a yr has passed. Time for new year resolutions again..but then, think i wont be having any this yr...cos i never get to follow them..lol. Anyway, would like to thanks:

- those who made my life (you should know who u r) so wonderful in 2007. Without you ppl, i wont have such an fun and interesting year!!

- those who made my life miserable and tough. But also good in a way, as it makes me a better person and also makes me realised your true colour.

- my family who tolerate my ureasonablness and my hot temper.

This year's D&D is much later than last's. Its held at the same place; Swissotel the Stamford and the theme for the event is retro. Seems that most ppl's D&D's theme for this year is retro..hmm..no originality..hai...however most of my colleagues didnt dress to the theme. Me dun wanna spend money on new dress, so i just wore what i had on hand.

This yr's event was much better than last's. The Co has engagement Adrian Pang to be the entertainer and also a band which is pretty good. Cant remember its name. Food only so-so, but as we were busy taking pics, we didnt really sit at the table and wait for the food to be serve. After that we headed up to New Asia Bar for 2nd round! Suprisingly, its quite empty and we managed to get 2 tables. And THANKS Andrew for opening us a bottle of Martel!

Phone options?

This is the only phone which caught my eyes when i was at the HP shop yesterday. I like the shape and colour of the phone. However it only comes with a 2 MP camera and the main attraction of the phone is that its a walkman phone, with Media Player, able to play MPEG4 / H.263 / 3GPP / RealVideo8 / WMV 8/ WMV 9 files. I dun think i need this feature as i just got my Samsung MP3 player... So other than the outlook of the phone, nothing else attracts me...

Initially my first choice was Samsung U700. However upon looking at the real phone, i find it too "manly" and alot of ppl complained about its "too" sensitive touch pad. Thus dropped the idea. But the price of this phone really drops alot. From at least $300+ in Oct to now, $68 with 2 yrs plan...so is there a problem with the phone??

So wat u guys suggest?? Any recommendations?

Merry Christmas everyone!!! Hope everyone had a great christmas and lots and lots of presents.

Guess what, my Hp batt gave up on me today! The battery came loose and i ended up have to use tape to secure it :(

So ugly right...hai...

Law is working today, but luckily uncle Sing is free to celebrate Christmas with me. Orchard road is closed today and town would be super packed. So we decided to keep away from town and ended up we had lunch at Jack's Place.


And look wat i got myself for christmas! A pink 1G MP3 cum FM radio from Samsung. Just love that pink :D

Today, i would be having 2 steamboats in 1 day! Firstly, its exactly Trishelle's 6th month birthday , thats why sis decided to have a mini bday cum christmas celebration @ her house. Its also a long awaited steamboat gathering which she has mentioned way before Trishelle was born..lol

After that, i had to rush home and down to Tanglin shopping Centre to Chong Ching's Magic Hot Pot for another round of gift exchange and steamboat with my secondary school frens. Its seems to become a tradition that we always have steamboat for our Christmas celebration :D But unlike last year, for this year's gift exchange, we had decided and draw lots to see who would buy for who (instead of last year whereby we would buy the gifts first and then draw lots on the day itself). This year i got Qingyou. And guess wat, he is buying for me too!!! Haha..so coincident.

The steamboat was a bit disappointing as its not as spicy as it used to be. Maybe also because ia was already quite full after the steamboat lunch. And by the end of dinner, i was bursting with food!! Haa..think i had enough steamboat for this whole year!! But overall, i had a great day giving and exchanging presents!
