CNY is coming !

Time flies n soon it's gg be Chinese New Year soon. To get into the festive mood, I m trying my hands on baking CNY goodies. Tried pineapple tarts a few yrs ago n failed miserably. Decided to give it a 2nd try this year.

I would say that baking the pineapple tarts isn't very difficult. The hardest part is in fact the rolling of the pineapple balls! Took me > 1.5hrs to finish 1kg of pineapple fillings.

The recipe is quite time consuming as it requires the freezing of the pineapple balls n chilling the dough. But the end result is amazing! I tried doing it last sat but my oven gave up on me halfway thru!! Argh! Ended up wasted my dough. Hubby brought me to courts to buy a new oven. This time round I did a little research n bought Cornell oven. The oven only cost me $99 n it's quite good :) did another round of dough for my balance pineapple balls.

Happy New Year!!

I m always very emo when it comes to special days like Christmas, new year countdown, CNY etc cos mostly hubby would be working n not ard. Seeing all the complete family photos posted by frens on fb wishing others a Happy New Year, I can't control but feel a little sad that my countdown is always wo hubby ard. (Swear in my next life, choose a hubby that is not in f&b line)

But nonetheless, I have my 2 precious with me, counting dwn comfortably on my cosy bed ( with the 2 of them alr in lalaland). 2013 has been an eventful year. Gone now is 2013 n I wished all the bads go together with 2013, leaving only the goods for 2014. Happy New Year everyone! Huat ah!!

I m excited!

Jazelle has turned one (gg blog abt her party n our cruise trip soon) ! N I have bf her for 12 whole mths ! I can graduate soon le as I had bf skyler for only 12 mths too! Am slowly decreasing my pump frequency n I m excited! Cos for the first time in 12 mths, I m not gg set my alarm to wake up n pump in the middle of the night!! Hehe. Ok off to my 6 hrs of sleep

U family Pinic

This happened last week but I still decided to blog abt it cos I totally enjoyed myself! I always wanted to bring my family for a Pinic but hubby wasn't keen on it. The u family Pinic was organised by ntuc n it was like a family day. I bought tixs for 5 pax thinking to go with hubby n my maid n 2 kids. But.... Hai... Hubby couldn't make it , thus in the end, went with my parents instead. We had fun n glad that I didn't skip the event :D

As its a Pinic, we had to bring our Own food. I cooked glutinous rice n made chix wings. Also brought
Watermelon n grapes. When we reached WestCoastPark, the carpark was packed to the max. End up we had to park illegal at the lorry carpark :(

Reached ard 6pm. Timing is a good choice as it wasn't that hot n there was evening breeze.

We quickly gobble dwn our dinner n set off to q for the fringe activities. There are balloon sculptures, face painting , pony riding (which I didn't know until it's quite late), candy house, popcorn , candyfloss, photo booths n photo stamps. On the dwn side of such event is that the q are super duper long. My maid q for the balloon sculpture for almost an hr! Meanwhile I brought Skyler to q for the candy house.

It's where we were given empty boxes, led into a house with a huge inflatable pool filled with sweets! So scoop to our Heart's content for the sweets!

After that I brought K to the photo booth mail n get our photo taken n made into stamp. Through out the event, bubble sticks were given n of cos Skyler had lots of fun with them.

Writing writing

Recently started Skyler on doing writing . Actually started a few mths back, but this mommy here is very lazy n stopped when Skyler didn't showed much interest in doing so.

So here we are today, continuing where we left off previously.... Hmmm at letter A. Lol.




He really needs lots of encouraging n nagging n scolding to continue writing . God pls bless me with more patience pls!



After half an hr, here is the end result. Not bad i would say for a first timer. 再接再力 ok.

Update on my kids



 

My last post about Jazelle was her birth. Now, 10 mths down the road, she has grown up to be a cutie, sweetie pie :D yes i am a proud mama. Proud to say she is cute, she is adorable, she is lovely. She has got nice big eyes (luckily she didnt take over my genes for eyes) and small pouty lips. The only down side is she still doesnt have much hair. But its ok baby, i am sure your hair would be out soon. Mommy cant wait to tie your hair for you and let you wear hair clips.

 

Skyler too has grown up into a mischievous toddler. But in mommy's eyes, he is still the best looking, best behaving boy ever :P (mommy closed both eyes on the behaving part).

 

Mommy's life isn't easy now that she has got the both of u. But its the best thing that ever happened to her. Your every smile, every laugher all makes it worth it.

Reviving of my blog

Gosh, i didnt realised that my last post was back in Feb! A lllooonnnggg time since i wrote something. Yes yes, i am getting lazy, but hey, life isnt a bed of roses, especially now that i have 2 kids to handle. Any spart time i would rather spend to relax and watch dramas online.

Now that i am back at work and its over my busy period, i guess i have more time to write stuffs abt my life once more. Also, what prompted me to write again? Its my other half ! I am pissed with him!

I felt like i am a single parent. Just received his called telling me that i need to bring S to berries myself this sunday AGAIN. When i complained, he said "no choice. i am the son of the nation" (or something to that context) as he is gg for his RT (for those who failed their fitness test for the purpose of army) in the morning. So the correct meaning is that, you are not a son of the nation. you need to go RT, because your fittness is not up to the std!. Totally pissed and say S is my responsibility. Isnt he your son too? Crap. I know i shouldnt so "unreasonable" afterall you are going for exercise. Its not like you are going out to enjoy urself. But, lets see if you would accompany and play with your kids in the afternoon before you go to work. Or (like usual) you would just say u r too tired. WE SHALL SEE.

CNY 2013

Just finished reunion dinner with my parents n even thou tml is 年初一，i m feeling very heavy hearted. This year's CNY is very different. I have an new addition to my family as well as lost someone very dear to me last year.

My first CNY wo Ma... CNY would nv be the same wo you MA...I would nv be able to taste the carrot fried by u nor the tasty 年糕. I would miss ur cherry laughter n how we used to eat gua zi together. Hope u r doing well at where u r now. Miss u lots especially now..

Luckily I still managed to have reunion dinner with mom n dad this yr, if not its just the 2 of them.

Birth updates!

Didn't realised that it has been such a long time since I last update my blog! Been so tired n busy lately. N of cos it's due to our new addition to the family, Jazelle Wee Tai En!

She was born on 30 Nov 2012. Exactly on the same day as my mom! Before that, my mom was still telling me that she has the feeling that Jazelle would be cmg out on her bday! So 巧!

This time round, my labour was very fast. Contractions started ard 215am at 4 mins apart n the pain was pretty intense. Straight away I went to MAH. Upon checking in ard 4am, I was abt 4cm dilated only. Did the routine clearing of bowels, got strap to the machines n no epidural this time round too! So proud of myself! :D dr Yam ordered drip so as to hasten my alr very fast labour. The midwife even asked me if I was rushing for a certain birth hr! Lol I didn't but I guess Dr Yam wan the delivery over before his work starts at the clinic. Afterall it's a Friday. Dr Yam came ard 5am+ n burst my waterbag. I started to have the pushing feeling within 10 mins but I still wasn't fully dilated. Dr Yam thus proceeded to manually stretch my cervix!! I tell u, that was PAINFUL!!! After abt 5 sets of pushing , Jazelle was out! I pushed real hard this time round cos he told me bb's heartbeat was dropping! Scare the hell out of me thus I gave it all I have n in the end I got a tear in addition to the cut that dr Yam gave me. Jazelle was out at 643am, 1 min slower than Skyler :) should have told me to hold on to that 1 min. Lol birth weight at 3155g. Lighter than Skyler too.



This time round I was at delivery ward 2.

I m left with the most 9 more weeks to go. Time seems to fly! I m getting more n more nervous. I haven :
- started washing Jazelle's nb clothes,
- buy the cot sheets,
- collect the playpen or buy the mattress for it,
- buy the voltage converter for my Pisa,
- small tin of fm,
- pack my hospital bag,
- present for Skyler for sibling's gift exchange,
- wrap Jazelle's gift.

Seems that I m more nervous this time round as compared to Skyler's time. Wonder how would I coup with 2 kids in the future. Would I still be able to spend as much time as I could with skyler now? How am I able to go out alone with 2 kids wo the maid? How would Skyler react when Jazelle arrives. How would he react to gg N1 next yr? So many qns, so many uncertainties. Oh dear... Pls let everything proceed smoothly.

Jazelle Wee

After much searching and considerations, we have finally decided on mei mei's name. We gg call her Jazelle Wee! Below is what we found in the internet:

Spring cleaning

Just did a round of spring cleaning on my blog and remove those inactive blog threads. Sad that most do not update their blogs anymore. I wonder if anyone still reads mine? Hmmm...

Zzzz habit

Yeah, nowadays, Skyler managed to zzz on his own. All i need to do is to be in the same room as he is. Fed him his milk, kiss him good night and walk away. should have done this earlier!

OMG! I realised that i forgotten to blog abt Skyler's bday!!! Yikes! Bad mommy! Ok ok summary :
1) celebrated his 2 yr old bday bash together with a few jul10 mommies at Hokey Pokey,
2) celebrated with my parents at home , having steamboat n swensen ice cream cake,
3) celebrated with inlaws with polar cake
He received lots n lots of presents! See him opening them :

My Skyler

Realised that i didn't blog abt Skyler for a VERY VERY long time! I have been blogging abt my pregnancy every now n then but nothing on skyler (hope he doesnt say that I m being bias!) . My little boy is now all grown up, learning new things everyday :) . He managed to drop his pacifier habit when he was 20 mths old n now at 26 mths, I m training him to zzz on his own. Tonight was the 2nd night n he took 1 hr to zzz -_-". Yesterday he only took 20 mins. Lol guess he was tired last night.

It's another 2.5 mths till my edd. So it means another 2.5 mths to have our 100% love n attention. I seriously dunno how he will react after mei mei is born. N I felt so guilty that in times to come, he needa share our love for him with mei mei. So not looking fwd to it :( .

Nowadays Skyler can speak more and communicating with him is much easier. But he can be so cheeky at times. He has also started his "y?" qns n some times driving me up the walls. Talking abt terrible twos..,*shiver*

Cravings!

Oh dear oh dear, I have countless cravings recently! Craving for lor mee, fried kway teow, tissue prata, durian. How not to get fat! Yes, won't get fat cos none was satisfied! Boohoo... :(

Also, this 2nd pregnancy is really more difficult than the first. Or shall I say first pregnancy was too smooth n much of a breeze thus this time round is so different! When I had Skyler, I didn't have much problem till i was in my 3rd trim. But now @ 24 weeks +, i am alr having backaches, can't zzz on my back n will get breathless when climbing up the stairs.

Hubby also can't be bothered much this time round too. Sad...
