2nd yr anniversary - 29/07/07

Today marks our 2 years anniversary. How time flies. Its 2 yrs ago on this day ( a friday) at Kranji Reserviour, looking at the sunset, that we decided to give it a try.

We have been through tough times and better times, quarrels and sweet moments. I have no regrets (up to this moment) for the decision i made 2 yrs ago. Lets work together and strive for a better tomolo. Like what my signature at the end of my every blog entry says : hold my hands tight ;we will make it through... i swear.

To celebrate this date, we went to Jack's Place at Causeway point for dinner. As we just came back from our dive trip and is quite tired, thus went for somewhere near. We had:

Lobster Bisque Soup with garlic bread

Law: New Zealand T-bone steak

Mine: Boneless chicken and steak combo

Dessert~ Banana split and brownie with ice cream

Tioman - 27/07/07 - 29/07/07

Finally its our yrly diving affair. Went to Kim Keat Temple to pray for safety (Ma-zhu goddness of the sea), before heading down to BRS. There are altogether 9 of us; 3 OWS students, 1 refresher, 3 leisure divers, 1 instructor and 1 dive master ("DM"). While waiting for the speedboat transfer to the main boat, we went to the pub at Mersing jetty for a quick drink.

The boat ride to Tioman is much better and shorter than dayang (only 3 hrs). And thanks to uncle Sing, our DM who managed to get for me and Law a "bed" in the boat, if not we would be frozen in front of the aircon (our original seatings).

We stayed at Island Reef Resort at Tioman. Its much better than the resort that we stayed at Dayang too as the rooms are in Kampong Huts and we have our own toilet with hot water and also blankets!

We had altogether 5 dives, with 3 on sat and 2 on sun. The visibility underwater at Tioman is consider much poorer as compared to Dayang, but we did see different fishes here. In this particular trip, we saw lots and lots of barracudas! They are in school and at one pt of time, they are swimming ard us and we were liked being covered by them. Cut off with our surrounding. The feeling is great! Its like u r in the middle of a tornado! We also saw puffer fish, turtles on 2 separate dives, 3 feeding stingrays mini and also huge moray with blue mouth.

Other rare fishes that we saw include Juvenile Harlequin Sweetlips and seapen. The Sweetlips is a clown fish look-aliked but instead of the normal fins, its fins are longer and more ribbonery. When it grown up, it would change. As for the seapen, its like a stalk of seagrass which would retreat into the seabed when u touch it.

A Sea Pen

The wreck dive is the most memorable dive of this trip. The boats are being sunk on purpose to create the wreck. Its my very first wreck dive and no doubt that they are only small boats, its already very majestic! Even though we knew that they are being sunk on purpose, however, they still seems very errie...can sort of visualise Titantic.. Too bad my u/w camera housing die on me and cant stop condensing. So didnt manage to take any decent u/w photos.

One thing good abt Tioman is that they have shops at the jetty. Thus on sat night after dinner, we went dwn there for some supper and chit chat session.

Finally managed to finish the book and i like the ending! Unlike some readers who mentioned that HP shouldnt live in the end, i think that the ending they have is the best that Rowling can ever write. After all, the book is targetted at children and not adult, so why shouldnt it have a fairy tale ending? Plus, the ending is with a twist and explaining all the not answered questions in the previous book. Really find that it clasp nicely and ended the story...at least no open ended ending..

Disappointtingly, its only 600+ pages. The previous book was 800+..

Yes i am gg!!

CONFIRM plus chop!! I am gg diving next weekend! Yippee!!!!!!!!!! (just keep finger cross in case of any last min changes).

It seems like an annual affair for us to go diving. Actually Law wasnt very willing to let me go as in the early part of the year, we went to this fortune teller and the shifu asked me to be careful of "water". Best to keep out of any water activities. But if insist of gg, best to go to the Mazhu temple to pray first. So his only condition of gg is that i MUST go and pray at the temple first...keke...

Anyway, we would be gg to Tioman this year. At last, something different from Dayang! Heard that there would be blanket and hot shower. In addition, the boat ride would be shorter than to Dayang. Looking forward to it and will try to take more photos for posting later on!

Ok right..back to waiting for my Harry Potter book..its suppose to be delivered by Singpost today. My last book reached my place abt 8+am...now alr almost 12 noon..am still waiting...duhz..

Been a very busy day today. The day started off at 10am whereby we went dwn to the function room to start preparation. My job is to decorate the room and its no joke blowing 10 balloons. Matchmaker?

I became a Mei Ren indirectly!! Haa..only got to know it today that 2 of my juniors became an item recently. I should have suspected it long ago when they started to get so close! Haha..but since it was my over-friendly male colleague, i tot he is just being a gentleman to take care of the newer colleague. But who knows that by putting them together on 2 continous job (say abt 5 weeks), something happens! Haha..now they are an item. Felt happy for them as they are 2 very nice ppl. All the best!

Little Shiopping Spree

Have a little break from the normal busy schedule on Thursday. Went off early and met up with Law to do some shopping at Bugis. The main aim of the night was to get the balloons and ribbons for Trishelle's full mth celebration on Sun. But dropped by Bugis Junction for a little while, while waiting for Law and guess wat, Outfitters is having a sale! I got a dress for just $15 (original was at $59!!)

Anyway, bought the things as per planned and after that, went for a steamboat buffet at Liang Seah Street. The steamboat is not like the rest...as we had a porridge based steamboat instead of the normal chicken or tom yam soup based (but they do serve that as well). The price is cheap at $14.80/pax. They have gingseng in the porridge as well and there are methods paste on the walls to teach you how to make the base even tastier by putting the recommended ingredients in the base.

The services at the rest is excellent! Would give them A+!! The waiters are ever so friendly and anxious in helping us out. They would bother to help us crack the eggs and cut them up, teach us how to cook to make it taste better etc. Would recommend u guys to go!

Remember this?? It has brought back so many fond memories! And for a box of this much, it only cost $1.20!! Hee..once home, cant wait to try it out.

Genting Getaway (29/06 - 01/07)

Went on a 3 days 2 night trip to Genting with my colleagues last weekend. It has sort of became an annual affair for us. Just exactly 1 yr ago, we went on a 3 days 2 night trip to KL. Hee..out destination for next yr would be Australia!!

There were 14 of us. We took 5 star coach to genting. The whole trip (tpt + hotel stay) cost us $142 each. The bus ride took abt 6 hrs and after we have settled in and have lunch, its was almost 3 pm. We headed to the outdoor theme park. There wasnt much ride, but i guess the most fulfilling thing that i have done on the trip is that I FINALLY SAT ON SPACE SHOT!!! Its those free fall kind of ride. Been to genting for countless time, but this is my first time on that ride. Maybe its because of the company. 8 of us went on the ride. Let what my colleague said," When u are on the ride, you would regret your choice of getting up there. But once u r down, you would regret if you DONT get on the ride." I totally agreed with what she said. Its really a once in a life time experience!! Not as scary as i tot it would be and its a must sit ride at Genting!

We were staying at Genting Hotel, thus to make full use of the hotel rooms, we stayed inside and started to play our "games" Looser would need put toothpaste on his/her face. Luckily i only lost once, thus holding an Ace card :P

And of cos, whats gg up to Genting without shopping at Blush! The items there are cheap (almost half the price of singapore's) and nice! Hee...that pillow belongs to my colleague. She needs it to sleep every night :P

Disappointed or not disappointed...sometimes when one thing starts to go wrong, all things will follow suit. I cant even enter my blog entries without hipcups. Was trying to update my blog on my weekend trip to Genting (previous weekend) and i realised that my Adobe Photoshop programme has been deleted since the last formating. Now i cant edit my photos, thus cant post my entries. Next, when i try to enter "this" post here, i found out that my title bar dun seems to be working...meaning i cant type in my title for this post...duhz.....

The main disappointment that i have is that i MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO GO DIVING AT THE END OF JUL ANYMORE!!!! How sad can that be...waited for a yr..and now this...wasnt hopeful of gg at first as Law keeps on "stressing" that he might not be able to take leave as his new outlet just opened abt a mth ago and there are not enough manpower to work. But last night he told me that he had inform Jasmine abt the leave thingy and Jasmine said its all right to take leave. I was thrilled!!! At last a confirmation of gg!!!!! But then...just today..lesser than 24 hrs that i was told that we can go...Law told me that his colleague fell in the kitchen today and had fractured her ankle...would be on MC for 10 days and most prob gg to extend. This means that most prob we wont be gg for diving at the end of jul..... :~~<

Why does such thing always happens...why cant we just take a simple leave in peace. Its just a 3 days thingy... Its like until we ARE on the trip, if not there are always high chance that it would be cancelled..sigh..hate this kind of feeling...I know its nobody's fault...its just fate...but i just cant help feeling the way i am feeling now....
