Malacca trip

Went on a short Malacca trip from 29Dec - 1Jan, with my parents, granny, Skyler (Lawrence didnt manage to go cos he needs to work on 31 Dec) and sis + family. Its a very rest and relax trip with shopping/visiting places of interest in the morning, back to hotel to nap/swim in the afternoon and back out in town to have dinner and walk around. Granny commented that she enjoys it alot and hope to go back again! :D

We booked the Equatorial Hotel, club room for the 4 days stay. The room was a bit disappointing thou it was huge. Have expected something better. But oh well, the location on the other hand is real good! So that should compensate the room's condition.

Dad and bil drove us to Malacca. I am taking dad's car with my beloved mama :D

As it was 31 Dec'11, we did the countdown in the hotel. It was MISERABLE! They employed the diff races (ie. chinese, indian and malay) to play their traditional music, one after the other and it goes on and on and on..ie chinese play first then followed by malay then indian and repeat... the one interest thing is that the ppl here get to light their own fireworks! The hotel ppl were shooting fireworks right outside the hotel lobby. I was with sis and the lobby waiting for the balloons..wahahha to get for the kids. Skyler was with granny and dad in the hotel room. But he was awaken by the loud bangs of the fireworks, thus he did wake up and enjoy the fireworks. :)

Die, I m getting lazier n lazier to update my blog. Trying to tell myself blog it! Blog it! But by the time I settle Skyler into bed every night, the serial shows online are calling for me, demanding me to watch them! Lol... Funsion won over blogspot so here I m with lesser n lesser blog post each mth.

ok back to updates abt me. Have been in my new co for almost a mth. Lots of things to learn n my boss is slowly showing her "pattern". Hopefully she is not as bad as I feel she is. Still need time to get to know her n her working style.

On a happier note, I m looking fwd to dec! It wld be a super busy month for me in terms of work as well as parties! We r currently changing acctg system thus there r lots of checking to do n in addition to tat, auditors r coming in! This would be My first time being audited. Lol i m now at the other side of the field. Party wise, I have 5 Christmas parties to attend! Lots of Christmas presents to buy too!! Broke, broke, broke, broke...anyway, Christmas is the time for giving n sharing isn't it? :)

Rest & Relax

Today is day 4 of being jobless @ job in transit. Been gg out with Skyler everyday since sat. Sat-Skyler's round 2 of PS. Sun - Bb Zouk, Mon - Shopping with Skyler n today, brought him to JG's trial class. Tml is gg to be ME TIME! Gg for massage n shopping alone! Within these 3 weeks of rest period, I needa fit in 4 weddings n 3 trips; cruise, hong kong n staycation at sentosa. Other days are scheduled to meetup with frens. 3 weeks are really not enough man. But I m more than happy to have the 3 weeks to spend time with Skyler. He totally enjoyed his first Zouk experience, dancing on the stage.

Looking hip huh. :p

As for JG, I think it's over-rated. The class we went for is pure play. Nothing academic at all. Feel tat bibinogs is better. It's similar to JG in terms of lesson structure but at least there r things to learn. Wat JG does in class, I can jolly do it at home myself.

Changes in life

Recently there are quite a few changes in my life. Some are devastating (but we have since learnt to move on and hope for the best) and some are lifestyle arrangements n some are career related.

I have stopped breastfeeding completely on the 2nd week if August. I can finally say bye bye to waking up at 530am to pump but at the same time, I m saying hello to fats! Yes, I can see the significant increase in fats on my tummy n hips area... -_-" oh well, it's time for exercise. So bye bye pump n hello hula hoop!

Next, I have also started Skyler on a weekly right brain development class back in Jul. Some of you might bs thinking tat I m very KS to start Skyler on class so young. But being a full time working mom, I m not able to spend much time teaching him things during the weekdays. So hopefully by attending classes conducted by trained professional teachers, Skyler can at least absorb a bit? Anyway, it's only 1hr per lesson per week. He still has the rest of the 6 days n 23 hrs to eat, sleep n play. So I m not depriving him of his childhood right. Mind u, these classes doesn't come cheap. I have just signed him for the 2nd school term which would start in oct till Jan. :p His class is on Sunday morning 9am, so I dun get to sleep in on weekends too.

And finally, I have tendered!! Yes! After 7 yrs in KPMG, I feel tat tat is quite enough. It's time for me to venture out n see what I m worth in the commercial sector. Went for interview for 1 company n I got the job. I was quite happy as i didnt expect it to be so easy. Remember the time after graduating from uni , the no of mths n interviews tat I went thru before finally securing a job. So stepping into KPMG was really a wise move. At least I m worth something in the job market now. My new employer actually offered me a higher pay than wat I have stated in my asking pay. They say they dun wanna short change me for giving me a lower pay. They wanna pay wat I m worth . Actually I didn't ask for too much increment from my current salary taking into consideration tat I have left the audit function for 1 yr n in this 1 yr, I m doing non Accts related job. But of cos I m happy tat my new employer is so generous to increase my pay automatically. But I guess, with increase salary, higher position , it would of course means more responsibilities n bigger challengers. Just hope tat I m not itchy backside n wont regret leaving my comfort zone to take up more "shit".

Gg have a short break first before starting on the other side. Gg spend more time with my precious before diving head in into my new job scope. Oh ya, n we r gg for a short overseas trip to HK, of cos bring Skyler along too. It wld be his first flight. Hope he won't fuss too much while on the plane.

Die, I m getting lazier n lazier to update my blog. Been gg out alot recently. With Skyler of cos n by the time I m back home, I m dead tired.

When for Skyler's photoshoot yesterday. It's a complementary shoot from F8 Angels as Allison won an award from 1 of the maternity shoot pic which she took for us last year. This time round, it's the grp babies! Imagine just yr they r all in our tum tum but now, all out n running n crawling ard!

The shoot was a bit chaos with 8 babies refusing to sit still lol. After 1.5 hrs n much coaxing , the shoot was done.

My baby has turned ONE on 25th Jul. Time really flies and now he is entering the toddler stage; no longer an infant. Thru this 1 yr, i see how he grew from a tiny bundle of a crying baby, to a walking toddler with a mind of his own. I see how he falls and learns to stand up again by himself. I see how he learns to do things such as picking up toys, laughing, crying, frowning and how his emotions grows to be more sophisticated. From toothless to now with 5 tiny baby teeth, from 3.3kg to 9.4kg and much more. My baby is growing everyday, learning new things and nv fail to amaze us with what he can do. His motor skills (he can sit, crawl and walk earlier than his peers) are developing at a faster pace than his oral skill (still waiting for him to call mama and papa properly). At 1 yr old he can:

- walk unassisted

- stand up from a sitting position unassisted

- is aware of curbs and stairs and knows how to be careful when walking over them

- has 5 teeth (2 on top and 3 below)

- say mumummu and papapappa repeating (with no particular meaning)

- weighs 9.4kg

Skyler's Big One

Just celebrated Skyler's 1st birthday yesterday. It was tiring and planning started months ago. Feels machiam like wedding, with all the ordering of cakes, brownies, cater, purchasing of decorations online, doing invitation list, sending 0ut e-invites and reminders and also booking a professional photographer. I got to know my photographer, Simon throught one of my mommy fren, Irene. He was also the PG who took for us the July Bday Bash celebration. Love the way he takes photos, how the photos turns out and the vibrant col0urs that is always associated with his photos (unlike some PG's work which I have viewed before and mosts blank and white (yes even for photos of babies)). Not only that, he is also a very easy going and handsome guy! Hehe.. He has his own photoblog and wrote a great piece on Skyler's Big One. You can view it via the link below.

Jnu and Jul was a very very busy months for me. Lots of weddings and bday parties to attend. Nonetheless, its coming to a end soon and Skyler's 1st bday party is this sat! Have packed the goody bags last nite and ordered cater. Now left pumping the hand-held balloons and the helium balloons and collecting of his bday cake on the day itself. Oh ya, still have to get Skyler a pair of new shoe. Counting to the end of the month, I would be stopping bfing too. Looking forward to it and bye bye to the waking up early in the morning to pump or pumping while shopping.

Poor Skyler is sick again n poor mommy cos mommy got to handle a cranky bb in the middle of the nite... Zzzzz....this time round he is having running nose n cough. Must be the crazy weather recently. Measured his weight n height at Dr Agnes's clinic. At 10.5 mths, he weight 8.9kg n measured 74.5cm. Quickly get well soon k. Mommy wanna bring you to Royce on Monday with all your frens there :) As for the wedding lunch tml, u got to skip le. Gg over to po po's house to rest ya.

Skyler is already 10 mths plus n I haven't really start him on any books as yet. Reason being tat he is only interested in "eating" the book for now... Lol...so his collection of books are just accumulating in the corner of his room w/o much usage.

Currently my Co is having a Save the Environment champaign n have setted up a booth to sell
2nd books donated by staffs. All books cost $1 each (sold cheaply so as to encourage ppl to buy n thereby achieving recycling purpose) or u can bring ur own book to do a one for one exchange. Must be environmental friendly ya.

Tapping on this opportunity, I bought 11 books for Skyler.

Managed to get very good buys as these books are actually very new! These cost $1 each n some of the books are touch n feel books which would cost at least $10+

Also got this big board book which even though I need to use scotch tape to attach some of the pages, it's still a good buy as it's original price is at $24.90.

Just went to collect 10 packs of Huggies diapers at Cold Storage... In addition to this, I have 6 boxes of Pampers Active at home!! Call me KS but all these are bot at promo prices. Like my previous 2 boxes of pampers diapers , supposely it cost $47.89 for 2 boxes, but tyr cashier scanned wrongly n only charged me $32!!! Was so happy. And now huggies at cold storage having promo. Buy $100 worth of huggies products, you can redeem a Little Tikes BBQ Grill set worth $100+! How to resist such proving .

We r in for a rough nite tonight. S is having his 2nd tooth (yet to cut thru his gum) n this time round, he is having stomach upset, LS + can't stomach any food ie would puke after we feed him any solid. Plus he is also having slight fever. Poor boy. Can see tat he is VERY uncomfortable. Tried very hard to zzz but kept crying.. Hopefully this tooth will break thru soon n he will go back to normal.

Side track - Brought S to swim at Hillview n this time round my dad joined us. S is such a water bb (hopes he stays tat way) n love to "swim"! He wasn't afraid when I dung him into the water n from time to time, knows how to kick. He can even walked a few steps in the water unsupported. Think due to the water support, he can walk better in water.

Movie Marathon

Watched Fast n Furious n The Lost Bladesman. FF is nice but the lost bladesman is a disappointment.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all mommies/mommy to be!!! This is my very first yr celebrating mother's day. It marks another significant stage of my life, moving from single to married to pregnant n now being a mother. I am a person who loves children but the joy tat Skyler brought me is indescribable. Everyday at work, I would keep on lookg at the clock, willing it to go faster towards 530pm so tat i an rush back to hug my baby. No doubt its hard to take care of a bb, needing to wake up in the middle of the nite to pacify a crying baby, endure he endless energy, taking in his tantrum and caring for him when he is sick. But what makes everything worthwhile are: when he woke up in the morning or after his nap and sees me, he would give me his biggest and widest sunshine smile, when i returned from work and he ever ready wanting me to bao bao, his mischievous look when he knows he is in trouble, feeling sleepy and "yang oh", laugh when i play with him, his cute sleeping styles (i love to sit on my bed and just look at him sleeping) and many many more. Other than his hyper active-ness, Skyler has been an easy bb. He is very smiley, not a fussy eater (in fact its quite easy to feed him-hope he stays this way) and not afraid of strangers. Felt so blessed to have a child like him :D

Spent Mother's Day in a relatively quiet style. As hubby is working, we did not go out to celebrate. Went to Kuishinbo for dinner the nite before and hubby bought me an Awfully Chocolate cake :)

Went on a playdate at Daisy's house today. She bought a huge inflatable pool just for today's date n many more to come in the future. Skyler was totally enjoying him n was kicking all the way n exploring the pool. So proud of him :) He totally KO after that lol.

9 mths old!

Skyler turns 9 mths yesterday n weighs abt 8.7kg. Haven't had much time to update my blog recently. Just 2-3 post n it's time to update his mthly milestones again :) ok in this mth he:

- managed to stand n play his leapfrog activity table

- started to eat fruits raw n un-pureed

- crawls better n faster

- learning to get off my bed, butt first

- self feed some fruits, biscuits, melts

- able to concentrate better while watching Bb can read

- likes walking (with us supporting by placing hands under his arm pits)

For now he still hasn't grown any teeth, however mom says tat she say a tiny bit of white on his lower gum. Also he is still putting everything into his mouth which I tot he should be over this phrase alr. Hopefully in the near future I can hear him calling me ma ma :)

Moms & Pops club

My Co has a special club for mothers n fathers. They organise courses the moms n dads as well as activities for the kids. Last dec there was a Christmas party for the kids where presents were given, magic show n some other entertainments.

Yesterday I attended a first aid course for moms n dads. They taught us how to give CPR to infant n wat to do in the event of choking. It's a extremely useful course and there is even hands on practice with the dummy dolls to practises wat we have learn. Instructors r there to correct our technics.

Puree time again

Recently I have been quite ethu in making puree for Skyler. He is a really easy eater as he eats almost anything and everything! Friday evening is grocery shopping time. Imagine I can get excited at the tot of gg giant n get ingredients to cook his porridge over the weekends. Recently been making chicken stock boiled with onions, potate, chicken breast, sweet corn n wolfberries, then add threadfin, carrot n sometimes tofu or asparagus into his porridge. He loves it n can finish 1 big bowl of the porridge. Hopefully his non fussy eater character will stay. So far he has tried:

- avocados
- apples
- pears
- plums
- papayas
- pumpkins
- green peas
- broccoli
- potatoes
- sweet potatoes
- yogurt
- ikan bilis powder
- spinach

8th mth milestones

Skyler turned 8 mths on 25th March and I m still pumping! So proud of myself =P

不知不觉, I have alr gone back to work for abt 4 mths le. In another 4 months more, Skyler will hit his big one! Have alr decided to do a Sesame Street Theme for him :D Law said it's more for me than for Skyler.. Lol... Which partly is true lah wahahaha ! My little boy is slowly growing up. He now weighs 8.3kg, 50 percentile. In this one mth, he :

- begin cruising ( ie holding onto furniture n walk), but still unstable

- started cooking porridge for him.

- crawling still 3 legged ... Faintz...

- becoming more n more sticky to me

- super love the song "Ai" ( he wld stop wat he is doing n concentrate fully on the tv. Dunno wats so fascinating abt tat song.

-started eating bb biscuits

- lying on bed by himself drinking his milk

- figure out how to escape from the bumbo!!

Oh no, my poor boy is sick :( alot of babies r sick recently. Virus all over... Skyler been so cranky at night for the past few daysCos of his blocked nose, he can't breath thru it n need to breath thru his mouth. But yet he wans to suck his pacifier n it kept dropping out cos he is breathing with his mouth. So poor thing. End up both Skyler n me didn't sleep much. Virus in the air. Take care ya everyone.

Forum monmies have been raving abt Yoplait Baby First yogurt n how their babies love it. I was apprehensive as first as me myself doesn't like to eat yogurt. But since it got such good reviews, I decided to let Skyler try.

Verdict: Like me, Skyler doesn't like it. In the end, daddy finished it lol. So no doubt Skyler is not a fussy eater, there r still food which he wld reject. =D

Porridge time

Today marks a big step for me. Y? Cos it's my first time making porridge for Skyler. Bought threadfin fish, carrot n sweet corns yesterday in preparation for the porridge today. I use the slow cooker to cook the porridge n it me 2 hrs to make it mushy!!! Heard from Lynn that she use a type of thermal jar whereby u boil the grain over the stove for 15 mins n transfer it into the thermal jar n after half hr, ta-da, u get porridge! Maybe I should consider getting Tat.

Skyler had a great day today at the Jul'10 mommies and babies gathering, at Pris's place @ Sentosa Cove. He was so tired that he KO shortly after we came back. I had a great time too, chating and laughing with the other mommies about our babies. These gatherings are actually good for the babies, cos it can train/expose the baby to a bigger crowd so that they would not be afraid to socialise in the future. The food is good too. And its a good idea to bring the bumbo along too. At least we do not need to ja-ga them 24/7...lol..Thanks Pris for hosting us. Its great company, great food and we had a good time drooling at the houses with their yatchs and sport cars while on our way in. hahahah....

7 mths milestone

Another month has passed...and i am still pumping! Hee..ok lets target at 8 mths ok. Pray tat ss will last till then. Skyler's milestone for this mth:

- Tried papaya, sweet potato, pumpkin, banana, carrot, avocado and broccoli puree. Love all except broccoli, which he puked once and refuse to eat it thereafter..

- Started on Oatmeal cereal, likes it too. Also tried HappyBellies melts and puff

- Greedy boy..wanna eat watever we eat. Fed him rice and salmon too :P

- Able to crawl forward, but his style is: crawl 1 step, sit, crawl another step, sit -_-"

- Able to pull himself into a standing position

-"Grounded" him becos of that, so now he no longer sleeps in his cot, but on his mattress on the floor

- Started him on some trial gym classes and he loves doing all the stunts

- Becoming more and more sticky

- Weighs 8kg at 7 mths.

CNY!

This yr's CNY is special for us. Cos we have a new addition to our little family and thats our joy, our precious, Skyler boy! For the past 6 months, he has bring joy, laughter, anger and tears to us. Sounds like emotion roller coaster ya. Without him, life seems so boring (especially when Law works during weekends and I would be left alone) and unexciting! Now everything evolves ard him. What time we go out would depends on wat time he wakes up, wake time he drink milk etc etc.

To Skyler boy,

In this new year, we hope that you will continue to bring us joy and laughter, lesser on anger and tears ya l..grow strong, grow well, grow healthy and stay safe (ie dun climb here climb there. So dangerous!). Be a good boy and i promise i will get daddy to spend more time with you ok.

We had a BUSY 2 days of CNY visiting. First day includes running 5 places. Skyler didnt managed to get much nap in the end, he totally KO during the nite and didnt wake up at all to cry in the nite. I still have to wake him up for his next day's morning feed. 2nd morning went to Law's aunty house for CNY visiting, before joining my mom's side for our annual tim sum lunch.

Renuion dinner was at York Hotel. Food sucks big time..but oh well, its CNY, so lets not complain too much.

Skyler eats everything. Yes, everything n anything! Previously let him tried Heniz teething husk but it's too hard. Even I couldn't break it by biting on it! So using Bindi's advice, tat is by breaking it into half, Skyler did enjoy it better :)

Busy busy

It is so accurate! Lately Skyler has been squealing alot! Sound like a birdie lol...wonder when would he really say his first word (hoping its gg to be ma ma first :P)

6 mths milestone

At last Skyler reaches his 6th mth! This is an impt mark for him. He would be switching from stage 1 fm to stage 2. Officially he can start on his semi-solid (in fact i have already started him on fruit puree for a week +). His milestone for this mth:

- Able to sit up independently

- Able to pull himself into a sitting position

- Likes avocado and papaya puree (havent try the rest yet)

- Likes organic brown rice cereal

- Able to recognise me and wan me to carry when he sees me

- Sometimes able to "crawl" forward, but most of the time, he moved backwards lol

- At 1 week short of 6 mths, he weighs 7.5kg and measure 65.5cm (50 percentile for both). On a suprising side, his head circumference is only at 25 percentile when we always tot that he has got a big head! lol..

- Now he will hold his own bottle when drinking, except during df-ing when he is half asleep and tends to let go of his bottle.

Hug my Skyler boy n kiss: Thank you for coming into my life. Thanks you for being my little angel, little devil, little mr fussypot, little mr itchy backside (can't sit still), little mr eat-it-all (pls continue to do it minus the non edible items like TOYS, CLOTHES, PLASTIC), little clever boy, guai boy etc etc. You really brought a lot of excitement n fun n experience into my life. W/o u, my life seems so boring n uninteresting.

Hug my breast pump n kiss: Thank you for being my fateful fren for the past 6 mths. I see u every 3-4 hrly n work u to ur max. U have been good n did not give me much trouble. I will try to use u as long as possible but lookg at circumstances, I think I might be giving u ur deserved rest soon.. Continue to be good n shall see u again for #2 ya.

Skyler's first taste of avocado

The recommended age for starting on semi-solid for bb is after 6 mths of age. However, Skyler has long since showed interest in the food tat we r eating. He would always watch us intensely when we r eating n when I pretend to offer him some, he would always open his mouth eagerly. Thus, I decided to start him on his fruit puree yesterday.

Did some reading/research and it's said that Avocado is one of the best first food for babies. When we introduce new food to them, we have to follow the four day rules. Ie, feed him the same food for at least 4 days before introducing another food.

So, early in the morning, I woke up to prepare the avocado puree. Blended 2 avocados with abt almost 100ml of bm. Unkin not sure if I did it correctly, but even with 100ml of bm, the puree seems thick.

Fed it to Skyler in-between his afternoon n evening milk feed. Conclusion, he loves it! He was happily n excitedly grabbing my hand (with the spoon) n pushing it into his mouth. He managed to finish half the baby cube worth of Avocado.

First day of work for 2011

Sigh.... I didn't end 2010 n welcome 2011 very well. Been sick since 31 dec having sore throat, cough n blocked cum running nose. To add to that, Skyler has been extremely cranky, crying m screaming ar the top of his voice n wanting to be carried for every single waking moments. Hubby is not much help too as he is working. It's driving me nuts.

So now, on the first working day of the yr, I was given half day MC n now gg home to rest. Hub gg to pick up Skyker at night so tat I can rest in the afternoon. Too bad I still need to pump regularly, if not I think I wld sleep till when they r home... Sigh...

Happy 5th months

Happy 5th mth Skyler n Merry Christmas! Milestones in this one month:

- manage to lift up his butt n crawl backwards

- able to hold his own bottle for a while

- able to sit unassisted using his hands to balance n support himself for a while

- knows how to hold his hands out when I say 抱抱

- knows how to do hi-five

- starts to suckle his toes

- getting used to sitting in his carrier

- able to carry him upright , ie no longer need to cradle carry him

- had his last 6 in 1 jabs ( next mth left pneu n rota)

- at 1 week short of 5 months, he weighs 6.9kg n measured 64cm. 50 percentile =D

My birthday

This year's bday is especially special, cos i got bb Skyler to celebrate it with me. But as always, with a bb ard, by the time we are ready to get out of the house, its already almost 2pm. Gone were the days where we can wake up, wash up and go out for the whole day. Lots of things to pack and prepare/bring. Our itinerary for the day? Resort world, Singapore flyer and lastly Jewel Box / cable car.

Can you imagine how suanku i am. I have never been to IR or MBS, thus we took the opportunity to go walk ard. Will wait till Skyler is older and when i no longer bf (so that i wont need to look for nursing room to pump) then will we be gg to Universal Studio. Nothing much caught my eyes while at IR except for “Livewire”. Any idea what is it? Its SINGAPORE POOLS! Damn high class loh. You would nv expect it to be the Singapore pools from the outside.

As hubby applied for the ASA card (his company's welfare card), we went to the Singapore Flyer free of charge. Now to use the card, need to produce staff pass, thus hubby got to do all the tickets exchange himself. During the ride, Skyler poos and we changed his diaper in it..lol..guess he might be the first baby to have his diaper changed onboard of the flyer..keke

After flyer, we headed down to Jewel box for dinner, wanting to catch their muscial light and snow display. Much to our disappointment, when we were there, we realise the so call snow is actually soap! So Skyler couldnt join in the snowing expereince. Dinner at Jewel box was quite bad. Food were lousy and expensive, even thou they looked quite nice.

Christmas at T3

Brought Skyler to T3 to jalan jalan on 12th Dec. Its his first time there and he seems excited by it. I told him we are going gai gai and he can see aeroplanes, after which he started kicking excitedly. Not sure if he can really understand what i am trying to say or just pure co-incident. Lol.. As compared to the other terminals, i find that T3 is more child friendly. They have colourful and pretty walls, playground and even a giant slide that stretches 3 storey high! You can take from level 1 to B2 or from B1 to B2. As its Christmas time, Christmas decors are up.

Going for a short trip with Skyler boy in Jan, so now is the time to take his passport photo. Requirements are:

- Subjected should be full face, front view with eyes opened

-make sure the photo present the full head from the top of hair to bottom of chin and centered the head within frame

-Ensure that facial features are clearly evident in the photo

- No alternation, removal, amendment or enhencement of the photo is performed. This includes removal or addition of birth marks, moles or tattoos.

Its a real challenge to attract Skyler's attention to look at me without making his smile (as his eyes would become smaller in the process). It took us at least 20 shots to make him look at us, without smiling and keep still enough for a shot that is sharp.

A bit fierce looking but no choice. Thats the best we got.

Mum's Birthday

Celebrated Mum's birthday 27th Nov (actual day is on 30th nov) at Copthorne Kings. Had pengang buffet at their resturant. Actually preferred the buffet at Orchard hotel, but mum prefers Copthorne Kings, so went there instead. Its Skyler's first visit to a resturant in a hotel. Generally he was quite well behave other than when he wanted to sleep and became cranky.

There are so many things that i liked about my bb. I liked the way he looked, the way he smell, the way he behaves (except when he start to shout for attention..). I liked it when Skyler:

- Give me his ultimate sunshine smile early in the morning when i greet him good morning

- “Talk” to his cot mobile to self-entertain himself when he is awake in the morning but me and daddy are still sleeping

- “Sing” with me when i sing to him

- “Talk” to me and give me his 100% attention when i am talking to him

- Self rock himself by kicking his legs when placed on his rocker

- Play with his caterpillar’s legs (which acts as his bolster for the time being) or the corner of his pillow when drifting into sleep

- Gives me his innocent puppy eyes look

- Lie on his tummy and watch me getting ready for work every morning

- Laugh out loud / smile in his sleep

- Smile when he was sang “When you happy and you know” and when daddy play peek-a-boo with him

- snuggle with me on my bed when sleeping

Happy 4 months Skyler! Milestone in this one month:

· Manage to flip from front to back., ie now he can do a full flip

· Start to play with his toes, ie eating of toes should be in the near future

· “Sing along” when I sing him songs

· Upgraded to 4hrly feed, currently at 160ml, 5 times per day

· Weighs 6.7kg, 62cm. Both weight and height is at 50 percentile =D

· Able to hold his head stable when carried in a upright position

· Took his 2 5 in 1 jab + pne and rota à developed fever after that..

· Able to sleep without being carried and rocking (but sometimes still needs to be patted to sleep)

· Upgraded to M size diaper

· Starts to recognise faces

· Laugh out loud and smile in his sleep, but sometimes when having nitemares, he will “scream” and cry

Stay healthy, happy and be less cracky. Mummy and Daddy love you lots!! XOXO!!

Another kid?!

I m one of the unlucky ones whose menses didn't stop even thought I m breastfeeding. It came straight after my lochia n has alr passed 2 cycles. My 1st 2 cycles was normal n on time n thus when my 3rd cycle didn't come, i started to panic. Not again! Not now... Its too soon to give Skyler a sibling. We did all precautions n protections so it's not possible... is it? Was worried for a few days n was contemplating if I shld do the kit test when it finally came. Almost 2 weeks late n boy was i happy to see it. So another kid? Maybe a yr or 2 later bah....

Vaccines

Brought Skyler for his 4th mth jabs today. There r 2 jabs (5 in 1 n pne) n 1 oral vaccine (rota). Poor boy, kenna poke on both thighs. He cried while he was jabbed n subsequently continue to "complain" for a few mins after tat.. Lol. Luckily for his rota, he didnt puke the med out, if not we wld have wasted the money.

At cmg close to 4 mths, Skyler weighs 6.7kg n measured 62cm. He is at 50 percentile, ie not too heavy or light nor too tall or short. Just nice =D

The PD did warn us abt fever n I have gotten every thing ready; thermometer, cooling pad, fever med. Skyler did develop a fever of 38.1 just now. Fed him the fever med n put on the cooling pad n his temp went back dwn to 37.3 hopefully he can have a good nite sleep tonight.

Seriously sometimes I think Skyler understand what I am telling him. For example last nite when I was putting him to bed, I told him,"Baby, tmr is Saturday. Don't need to wake up so early. You can sleep in." Then guess wat... Now at 630am, he is still asleep. For the past 1 week , he has been up ard 5+am n had his first feed at 6am. So now, I m waiting for him to wake up for his breakfast lol..

Would be bringing him for his jabs later. Hopefully won't develop fever.

Sometimes back I brought Skyler to swimming pool to swim. At first he cried n kept holding onto me. But after while, he got used to the water n was kicking away exploring the bb pool :) I think he cried was becos the water was a bit cold but soon enough he got used to it.

On a separate note, earlier on I was deciding if I should invest in a bumbo chair or not so tat he can sit upright while watching tv. But I ended up buying a 2nd hand Evenflo exersaucer. Am happy with my purchase cos other than serving as an arm chair for Skyler, he can also play with it.

Skyler managed to successfully flipped this morning at 3 mths 1 week old. Previously when he flipped, his left hand is stuck underneath. But now, he has successfully pull out his left hand. Also as he still cant lift up his head properly, he was calling for help whenever he flipped over..hai..and he has been doing that for the whole morning! Faint...

Skyler just flipped onto his tummy just now!! I didn't see him flip thou cos I was in the kitchen sterilizing the bottles after I left him on the bed on his back. I heard him eh-ing away so I went back to check. Saw him on his tummy unable to flip back thus was calling for "help". Actually it's quite dangerous cos he still can't hold his head up quite well. So I guess it's more tummy time for now. But I am still happy tat he managed to flip on exactly his 3rd mth bday :)

Time flies. In a flick of eyes, Skyler is already 3 months old today. It only seems like yesterday that i delivered him and doing my confinement. Soon i would be going back to work. I would surely miss you baby... Within these 3 months, Skyler have grown alot. From a 2 hrly feeding to 3 hrly (lookg fwd to 4 hrly feeds) and from always sleeping to be more interactive now. From only crying to smiling at me and baby talk to me with all his cccooo, arrhh and ggrrr...from just staring daze-ly at other items to knowing how to reach out and grab his toys.

For the 1st time, i venture out with Skyler in his stroller alone! Its not as bad as i think it was. At first was worried that i wont be able to carry him in one hand and use the other to close/open/lower back rest of the stroller. But after a whole day of practicing on sunday, i manage to do it.

Its my 2nd time bringing him out alone. The 1st time, i hand carried him all the way..lol..ended up with quite badly cramped arms. Anyway, today, met up with Bindi (daughter, Leola) and Yuki (daughter, Hebe) at Vivo for coffee. All of us are Sep 09 brides and 2010 mummies. Its also my 1st time meeting Yuki. We just met for a shot 3 hrs and i had to rush back home....to pump again..hai..am prisoner to being a cow..

Brought Skyler for his 1st swim today at the Baby Spa at Hwa Xia. Actually i have alr ordered a neck float for him so that we can bring him to the swimming pool to swim. But we wanna intro him into the "waters" in a heated environment first before gg for the pool, so there we are, at Hwa Xia :) He totally love to be in the swimming tub and was kicking away happily. Ppl walking pass the shop also stopped by to have a look...lol.. As its Skyler's 1st time, he was only allowed to be in the water for 15 mins. He totally conk out after that and was sleeping for most part of our shopping.

Skyler finally poo after 2 days! And it's a super duper BIG business! Haa he helped us to save on diapers by accumulating his poo n do it one shot! It was so much tat it leak from the diaper, from his waterproof mat n onto our bedsheet after tat he was very hungry lol...

Tummy time

At 11 weeks, Skyler's neck muscles r still quite weak n thus not able to hold his head for long. Tummy time is one way to train his neck muscles but he doesn't like doing it. Have to catch him in his good mood or else he will protest all the way till u turn him back... Lol

Today, manage to catch him in good mood n did tummy time for a good 15 mins. By the end of it, he still can't hold his head up but at least there is progress

Skyler is finally showing some willingness to grab things at 75 days old (11 weeks). All thanks to his new Bee fren. Previously when I put his hand to touch some of his other toys, he wld retract his hand straight away. At least for Mr Bee, he wld take the initiative to touch n hold it For motherhood, u wld be amaze tat how such little things or progress tat ur bao bei do can makes u so happy.

Nowadays I m alway hungry. They say bfing burns alot of calories. It's true man! For the amt of food tat I have been eating, I didn't put on weight, but the feeling sucks when u r constantly hungry. Guess wat I am eating now?

So far I haven been getting Skyler many toys. And toys received from his full mth are mostly suitable when he is older. Thus I decided to get some online. One of it came today:

1st wedding anniversary

Time flies. This time last yr, I was busy and excited on my wedding day. Beautiful gowns, nice makeup/hairdo and being the center of attention. One yr later, i am tired, shacked and fat...haha but with a new addition to the family, now there are 3 of us :) So what did we do to celebrate our 1st yr anniversary? There is no romantic dinner or a relaxing getaway for 2. Now, all outings have to take into account that we are bring a bb along and the fact that i need to pump every 4 hrly. So we actually went to Underwater World. So "family" right..lol... Skyler is now at the stage whereby he likes to see lights and any moving objects, so we feel that Underwater World is the best place which we can bring him and he would love to see all the fishes swimming ard

Skyler's first bus right (@ sentosa blue line). He was sleeping thru out the whole journey, but that little bugger woke up right before we were abt to enter Underwater World. Talking abt knowing the right time, he sure is good at it!

There were alot of fishes but i particularly like the jellyfish. They looked so elegant and pretty floating ard.

After that, we headed down to Carousel for dinner. Its my 2nd time there but hubby's 1st. I liked their seafood selection. So fresh!

The main courses are so so only. But the have quite a no of live station which include the common pasta station and chinese food stations; hanianese chicken rice (thats comes with rice balls), loh mee, tim sum, fried quak teow etc. Dessert also so so only. One thing good abt Carousel is that, if u are gg to celebrate ur frens (note: not to celebrate your own birthday), you can order their cake and from FAR FAR away, they will bring the cake to you and SING in a very loud voice, their own Carousel version of birthday song and the whole restuarant would know..hahah its pretty special..but like i say, its good to celebrate the birthday of others but not own self..lol..

One funny incident that happened to us at Carousel: I requested for a glass of hot water so that i can warm up Skyler's milk. In fact, i did tell the waiter what the hot water is for and i did point to my bottle..after a while, the waiter came back with this:

A "plate" of hot water....took my ages to warm up the milk...

Happy 2 months

Happy 2 months Skyler boy! Today marks your 2nd month birthday. And how we celebrated it? With LOTS and LOTS of other Jul babies! Haa..its just a co-incident that the Jul babies gathering falls on the same day.

I took the first step and went out with Skyler alone, without any aid, ie no carrier or stroller. I hand carried him all the way. Luckily he was a good boy and sleep thru out. He only woke up for the phototaking and his feed, then he went back to sleep. No fuss, no cranky, no crying. Good boy ya Skyler!

Its was a very successful gathering with ard 20 babies. Managed to meetup with alot of mothers who we have only chatted in forum or msn. At least now I can put a face to the nick that i am chatting with :)

Hubby's birthday

Happy birthday hubby! Hope you like your birthday arrangement..ahhaha which is practically doing nothing for most part of the day :P

As a birthday privilege, i release hubby of his nite feeds and let him sleep thru till 11am+ next morning. He woke up for lunch, laze ard a bit and went back to bed! Slept till evening , wake up, sing him birthday song then we went out for dinner. Sounds pretty boring for a birthday celebration right. But when u have a young bb with you, you would understand and cherish watever rest u can take and sleep all you want! I long for a 8hrs sleep without any interruption! Looking fwd to my birthday (hint hint :p )

Hello ppl, sorry for not blogging more recently cos was really busy and tired. For now, i can and will only update my blog or surf the net when i am pumping, other "free time" would be spend catching up on my sleep. Previously i cant even update my blog when i was pumping cos i wasnt using the handfree set, but now, its a total bliss :) i should have started on that earlier!

So far for now, i still have 1 kg more to drop to go back to my pre-preggy weight and 5 more kgs to drop to go to my ideal weight. But i realised that even with the weight dropping, my "size" doesnt seems to be dropping much :( i still cant wear my rings and most of my shorts..i wonder where all the weight dropped from...

Nowadays, my days are pretty much routine. In the morning, i will feed Skyler, pump, have breakfast, then prepare to go to my parent's place. At my parent's place, i would be on a 2-2.5 hrs standby mode to feed Skyler and to pump on a 4hrly interval. My mom will help with the feeding if i am pumping or eating. Then in the evening, i will bathe Skyler, apply all the creams/oil/spray (at least 6 types) then feed him again (on the 2-2.5hrly mode). After the 7pm show, Ai, my parents will fetch me home and i will continue looking after Skyler myself until hubby is back, who will take over the nite feeding shift. Thats pretty much a day in my life now..boring ya.

But for last night, i did all the nite feedings myself cos its hubby's birthday today. As a privilege, i excused him of all the feedings. Now my 2 boys are sleeping soundly. Skyler just had his feed and hubby was sleeping thru the nite and havent wake up yet! So envy..i am looking fwd to my birthday..lol..

Mooncake festival

Celebrated mooncake festival at hillview on Saturday. The condo management organised a get together party whereby they give out lanterns, catered buffet and provide mooncakes. There are popcorns, candy floss and various games for the kids to play. Its Skyler's first mooncake festival too! So i bought him a Thomas Train lantern. Haa, even though he doesnt know how to hold the lantern yet, but at least he enjoy the music coming from it and the light (he love to see lights..not sure why also..lol). But realise Skyler is a bit afraid to be in mist of crowd. My mom who was carrying him says he will crouch closer towards her body and remain very still. Wanted to join in the lantern walk at night, but Skyler was sleeping thru out and i was a bit late in gg dwn, so miss it. Nv, there is always next year :)

- At 6 weeks plus, he is 55 cm long and weighs 5kg (now at 8 weeks, weight is about 5.3kg)

- He will smile at me first thing in the morning (that is if he is in a good mood)

- He can now make some sounds other than eh eh eh and crying, such as coo-ing

- He likes to hold onto my finger whe drinking his milk

- When frighten, he likes to burrow into my arms

- He likes to "talk" to his "frens" - which are the cot bumper and cot mobile

- He likes to sleep in his net rocker

- He sleeps better on our bed

- He can burp and fart simultaneously

- He can puke out ALOT of milk

- He can drink 80ml of water + 80ml of milk in 1 feeding

- He can drink every hourly or every 2 hourly depending on his mood

- He will make a face when given FM ; when BM not enough :(

- He can pee twice within a short time span , eg bath time (which ususally last lesser than 10 mins)

- He can poo ALOT

- He likes to be carried to sleep (haiz...)

Skyler's full month celebration

Born on 25th Jul, we celebrated Skyler's full month party on 22nd Aug. Its a 2 in 1 celebration as its also our house warming party. I did up an e-invite using a pic taken during Skyler's infant PS n sent out a week or 2 before the actual day. Thanks to all the people who turned up for his celebration. It was a bit chaotic as there were TOO MANY ppl turning up at the same time..lol..some of them said they couldnt make up but eventually did turned up n some said will come later came at 12+.. so in the end the food tat we ordered wasnt enough n we have to re-order another round of food fom neo garden. By the end of the day, all of us were totally knocked out. Ok, lets just let the pics do the talking..
